Phillies ERA in May is 3.16. Braves ERA in May is 3.53. As frustrating as it is the Phillies offense won't struggle like it is now.

Right now they are like a ticking time bomb and no one knows when it's going to go off. For the Braves sake you should pray that it's not today.

Rookie on his second start vs Chris Carpenter who straight up balls on the Reds.

Might not even be worth watching on ESPN

I can honestly say that yes, I would be quite frustrated, but not so much mad as sadly, it happens in the game. :/

    Dear Phillies,

It's my b-day, and as a present I request that you please stop sucking at least for today. Last year Cole pitched a complete game shutout with like 91 pitches thrown, and Raul hit 2 homers (it's his birthday today as well) so I'm assuming one was for me and one was for him. Doing something similar would be fantastic. Thanks.

So I see Stanton is getting promoted next week for the Marlins, I expect nothing less than a .500/.650/.900 line from him based on hype alone

I'm torn. I either can get tickets to this game, or tickets to the Yankees game in Baltimore. 8th happens to be one of my days off next week. Although listening to new radio yesterday, tickets for the Strasburg game are going at Yankee stadium like prices.

I hear Costas, Katt, and Smoltz will be calling the game so at least you'll have some good announcers to listen to if you choose to TiVo it or something

I can't get enough of Smoltz's weekly jokes. They're so silly that i can't help but laugh.

Gogo Infante/Lowe. Honestly.. even with a struggling team, I'm surprised at how well Lowe looked today.

Just a .400 ISO? You have rather low expectations

EDIT: A little explanation for those that missed it: Carlos Pena calls time before a 2-2 pitch, and steps out. Angel Hernandez doesn't grant time to Pena, and Pena gets called out on a 3rd strike while he was out of the box. Madden blames Joe West.

It just dawned on me that the Yankees have 5 potential Hall of Famers in their infield.

Two of them are a lock (Jeter/ARod) one is a near lock if he continues his pace (Tex) Posada is borderline (really shouldn't be, dude's numbers are on par with the elite) and Cano.

It's really scary how good their infield is. You'd be hard pressed to find a better infield in the history of baseball. The infield of the Big Red Machine is close, but Jeter is way better than Concepcion.

This is how I'll always remember him, seconds after scoring the winning run in the 1995 Division series against the Yankees.

Sad day for a Griffey fan, but good for the Mariners. It's too bad he didn't retire at the end of last year; it would have been a better ride off into the sunset. Still, he was the best player in baseball for much of the 90's, and will be the first player to go into the Hall of Fame as a Mariner. If it wasn't for him, I don't think the Mariners would even be in Seattle anymore.
