More articles on how "Ryan Howard can't hit a breaking ball". This better not become as annoying as "Jayson Werth is leaving" or "Ryan Howard is leaving". Not denying he has trouble with them obviously. For a guy who has 4 or however many consecutive season with 45+ HR and 130+ RBI and more HR and RBI than anyone in baseball(by a long shot) during that period you'd think people would get an idea. The first article I saw was from Sports Illustrated or whatever.
What annoyed me the most is the part about "What the Yankees did to him in the World Series". Not saying Yankees are not good pitchers by any means, but when you go from setting a new record for postseason RBI streak, NLDS game tying double then scoring the winning run, NLCS MVP, then a week off followed by 13 K's... You'd think any writer with half a brain would think that somehow factored in with the terrible strike zones for both teams.
Yeah. I always thought people knew he had issues with the breaking ball. Hell, a lot of hitters have issues with that pitch when it's thrown by great pitchers.
Plenty of hitters have a hard time hitting breaking balls. Not everyone is Jason Heyward I mean c'mon now!
lol I wouldn't be surprised. I don't expect him to set the world on fire his first year but some solid production would be nice.
I checked tickets for 12 different games tonight and 11 of them are already sold out. Its times like this I miss getting the free ticket stubs in the 700 level of the Vet from Phillies franks, and then being able to move down to the lower level after the 2nd inning without anyone giving a shit.
More people need MLB10 The Show D: Me and Kurp played a few games. Shit's fun. We did a Phillies vs Yankees (he was the Yanks, I was the Phillies). He pitched Sabathia, and I pitched Halladay. He ended up winning in the bottom of the 9th, 3-2 off of a Nick Johnson walk-off infield single. Yeah.. infield single. One issue with the game I've seen is sometimes, the commands you input (like Rollins throwing to 1B) don't work as I hit circle to throw to 1B as Johnson's slow as fuck, and he threw to Halladay instead. It felt like him pitching for the Blue Jays all over again, what with the complete game, 3R, masterful pitching performance, only for the offense to not help out.
Anyway, tl;dr get the Show! I wanna do a league.
Also, Moss.. Hanson is awesome. I went I believe.. 7.1 innings, 1 run, 5 hits against Kurp's Twins.
Yeah. It's nasty. That and his fastball have a lot of pop to them. I think I struck out 8 or so. He has his total windup and odd way of throwing the ball and everything.
I also toyed with the lineup a bit. I think I won.. 5-3 or something like that. Basically, after Morneau hit a solo homer on me and took the 1-0 lead (I was having problems hitting Scott Baker until later on), I basically never looked back again. McLouth (who I had batting 2nd in this game, Prado batted first) hit a 2R homer, and then Glaus ended up hitting a solo homer from the 4 spot, and I had another couple RBIs. Since Heyward isn't on the roster just yet, sadly, he's not in The SHow, but I'm sure by Monday, he probably will be. As far as my actual lineup, lemme list what I think it was.
Was in an AL Park (Twins new stadium) so it was:
Prado
McLouth
Chipper
Glaus
McCann
Escobar
Hinske
Diaz
Melky
Good news was Hanson had 6.2 innings of 1R/5hits worth of work. Moylan came in and added another 1.1 innings. Bad news is Wagner came in to shut it down and ended up giving up 2 runs in the 9th, so D:
There is a PS3 chillin under my living room TV, I just have to bug my roommate until he picks up the game. How about we do Mississippi v. Rome? lol
How good did they make Glaus? I'm guessing shitty contact with high power v. righties?
I can't remember exactly, but I know the homer I hit off of one of the Twins' relievers was by no means a bomb. It barely cleared the wall, but eh. If he can hit .255, 25 homers, and 100RBI, I'll be happy.
As far as match ups.. I dunno if you can use minor league teams. I know we wanted to do a legends game, but could only pick MLB teams so D:
Edit: Had someone check Glaus for me. 59 Righty/Lefty Contact, 62 Righty Power, 78 Lefty Power.

This has every sound clip they play during Yankee home games. Hot shit.
Fielding problems in The Show are ridiculously annoying. Don't think I can count how many times I moved the wrong guy, missed a ball, then gave up a hit/infield hit and then usually a big hit like extra bases or a homer only for me to rage quit.
I don't have 10 yet so I dunno if it still does it in that.
Turns out I'm going on the Phanatics birthday! Well, only reason I'm going is because my brother bought the tickets. I'm broke. This is probably my first Phillies game I've gone to in like 5 years or so, and the last time I think a bird crapped on me and my dad spilled waterice all over himself. I wasn't really following the team(or any sport for that matter) but I wanted to see the new ballpark. I'd be surprised if I move from my seat this time(barring any bird poop).

Rollins was too deep into the grass and running at too severe of an angle to make the throw to first!![]()
Yeah, I miss being able to go to Phillies games on the fly.
Anybody hear if TS 2010 is any good for the PSP? I'm thinking of getting 09 or 10. I would love a new baseball game to play. Or a new MVP 05 mod. I have a friend who's been updating the rosters for MVP 05 on his PS2 for years. Every move, every farm system, everything. He also updates all of NHL 05. He's insane.
Anybody else listening to the Phillies radio broadcast? LA and Franske were talking about Rays minor league teams. One team is called the Biscuits which lead to "chicken and biscuits" to which Franske corrected as "chicken and waffles" which lead to, "So where is, Sarge, today?"
