The Mets won another home game today in an epic Marlin Meltdown. Why can't we win on the road, why :<

Much like Pelfrey has found himself this season. I think it's safe to say Jimenez has done the same.

Amazing that he still let him face the next batter. Fired on the spot, etc.

Ugh. Lead off, pinch-hit double, and Prado/Infante/Heyward proceed to get struck out by Broxton. God he's good. D: Oh well, incoming series sweep after this walk-off by the Dodgers.

Can't believe Conrad stole 3rd in the top of the 9th in a tie game.

Can't believe no one got him home.

You are aware, Atlanta has already won 2 games in this series, yes?

Don't mind him, the negativity sometimes takes over his mind.

From the sound of it I'm glad I'm back in Louisiana and can't watch this one. Not getting a guy home from 3rd with less than 2 outs really grinds my gears!

Eh a couple innings late, but still called it. Curses. Tons of blown chances. That 9th inning really hurt.

And yeah, ignore me sometimes. I'm the negative Braves fan around here, so when something positive happens, it's really awesome. This was not awesome. That's a big loss to continue the road trip on. That inning Huddy blew up on, and then the 9th are killer.

Meh, Chavez blows it for Atlanta in 11th, Bravos had their chances though and keep the 2 game lead on Philly with their loss to the Pads.

Yeah, at least the Phillies didn't make up ground, but the Mets did. Watch out.

Also I wonder if Chipper will be heading to the DL with Saito, and if McLouth is fine (even though Atlanta's not really missing him)

Plus side is Escobar remains hot, along with Prado, while Heyward is having a rookie slump just a bit, and Melky is still lolMelky (Despite his awesome catch). If he can get it going somewhat, and McLouth can stop sucking major dick..I'll be super happy.

Chipper just got a cortizone shot and should be back in the lineup this week. Not sure on Saito. McClouth is headed to Gwinett based on what he was saying last night.

Mets are now just 3 back, yeah, and Atlanta gave up best record in the NL. Now there is like a half game seperating Atlanta, St. Louis, LA, Cincinnati, and the Padres.

    Man, where would the Braves be if they didn't have the 9 game losing streak earlier in the year ><;

The next week should be a good one for the Mets to make up ALOT of ground in the east. We've got 3 against the Pads at home, then the Os and Indians. Here's to hoping D:

I'm still hopeful McLouth can return to form since even when he is "on" he is a ~.260 hitter, so his slumps look really pathetic. At least as a rookie Heyward seems to be pretty streaky, he has these 1/20 mini slumps then he goes on a tear and carries the offense. The good thing is that he stills seems to stay pretty involved with the offense even when he isn't hitting with the walks he draws. I don't expect much out of Melky, but it is a damn good sign Yunel is turning things around, I was getting worried.

McLouth to Gwinett? Yeah, that would probably help. He needs to work on his plate discipline, and work on getting contact. He's striking out at an alarming rate. Much higher than his normal stats indicate, anyway.

As far as the best record in the NL.. yeah, I forgot the Braves were that high up there. They need to keep pace with those other teams, but all that matters is they stay ahead in their own division. A shame the Braves don't play the NL Central all year considering their record against them.

Yeah.. I think he just needs to get some time in back in the Minors and work some major kinks out, then come back up and go on a big hitting streak.

With Heyward, it's to be expected that he goes through periods where he struggles, then figures it out. That's what makes him a good ball player. It helps that he walks often too, so he can keep OBP up and help produce runs even when struggling. Melky's.. eh. I could go with Hinske, McLouth (if he ever hits), and Heyward in the outfield, but with both McLouth and Melky struggling, it's like we have two pitcher spots in the line-up, and the Braves need them to not suck, especially with the Twins and Rays coming up.

I figured Yunel would heat up. He's a career .300+ hitter, not .200. Was only a matter of time. Chipper I'm worried about because even when he's been on, he hasn't been that great. He's not in a Griffey situation, but he needs a big hit to get him going, and needs to stop getting hurt.
