CF In Citifield is being lowered by 6 feet woooohhoooo. On another note, I think the mets gonna gonna have to battle for third place unless the rotation wakes up.
Hanley Ramirez for league MVP
An entire 4-game series between Cleveland and Seattle got snowed out the first week of the season in 2007. To make matters worse, it was the only trip to Cleveland scheduled for Seattle that year, so they had to make it up with 3 one game series on Seattle's travel days as they flew back east for their normally scheduled away games. Seattle ended up with one day off between August 16 and September 24, and a Cleveland "home game" ended up being played in Safeco Field. It was a huge clusterfuck. Looking forward to more of the same with Minnesota not having a retractable roof. Whose bright idea was that?
BFFs
Marlins season all depends on how the rotation does. We have some 7 guys with a ton of potential that haven't done shit in the majors yet. Andrew Miller, Anibal Sanchez, Chris Volstad, Sean West, Ryan Tucker, Rick Vandenhurk, Hayden Penn...hopefully at least 2 of them actually step the fuck up to go behind Josh Johnson and Ricky Nolasco. Otherwise doing nothing in October again.
oh wow, new thread finally here
gogo Dodgers/Angels freeway world series!
Yankees/Red Sox/Phillies------------------> Everyone else with a 70M+ payroll------------>small market teams-----------> Pittsburgh.
Seattle had a good offseason, but you can't count on the level of defense last season was built around being sustained, so I'm expecting them to disappoint.
I still say Heyward disappoints. Kid has a line drive swing, and those guys turn into Delmon Young a lot more often than they turn into Albert Pujols.
NLE: Philadelphia
NLC: St. Louis
NLW: Los Angeles
WC: Atlanta
ALE: Yankees
ALC: Whichever teams breaks 81 wins (I'm guessing the White Sox since they may be able to take on salary at midseason)
ALW: Anaheim
WC: Boston
NL East: Phillies
NL Central: Cardinals
NL West: Rockies
NL Wild Card: Giants
AL East: Yankees
AL Central: Twins
AL West: Rangers
AL Wild Card: Red Sox
World Series: Phillies vs. Yankees 2: Electric Buggaloo (technically it would be round 3, but whatever) alternate title Phillies vs. Yankees 2: The Revenge, cause the Phillies are gonna win this time. I love being able to be a homer and realistically pick my team to win (unlike some other Philly teams, Eagles, looking in your direction).
Absolutely this. Isn't it the weirdest thing? I'm still not used to everyone calling any Philly team a favorite to win a championship.
Anyway:
NL East: Phils
NL Central: Cardinals
NL West: Rockies
NL WC: Giants
AL East: BoSox
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Mariners
AL WC: Yankees
Rematch of 2009 World Series, with Philly taking it in 7 games.
Well I guess this shiny new thread explains why there were no new posts in the 2009 thread for a while.
NL
East: Phillies

Central: Cardinals
WC: Giants
AL
East: Yankees
Central: Twins
West: Mariners
WC:Red Sox
nobody picking the white sox to win the ALC

Makes me giddy in all sorts of ways.
Word has it Chase Utley has already reported and is working hard. Shocker. In fact, reports are that he's more athletic than ever.
Dear Brewers: Please don't implode in the second half of the season. Love, Eli.
So glad I won't have to worry about him shutting down the Yankees til November.
I heard Chase is looking good too. Bunch of reports saying he's moving much better. Could be his hip healed more, could just be that everyone looks good on the first day of spring training. Either way, a better Utley is.. scary.
So basically he's the reverse Barry Bonds? lol

Under new management this season.
Can't wait to see what our kids can do with some real playing time under their belt. And also hoping Harden doesn't fall apart because that could end up being a huge move for us if he stays healthy.
East is gonna be tight this year.
And by east I mean the important one, the one with the Red Sox and Yankees in it, who are arguably going to be the two best teams in baseball (shocker there huh?)
What's wrong with Delmon Young is far, far, far, far from having a "line drive swing."
Anyone expecting .200+ .ISO's is probably going to be disappointed but Heyward'll have at least average power (.150), I'd assume sits in the .170-.180 range, and his value isn't just his bat. Guy plays obscenely good defense (+24 runs per 150 games in RF in his minor league career).
