Phils are at about the same point that they were last year. They showed a graphic last night during the Phillies game that they are one game ahead now than they were a year ago, and after the all star break went something like 53-38. Problem is that the Mets & Braves are better this year than they were in 09.

At least despite Chase & Polly both being out, we don't get Heyward next week either.

Heard this from a reliable source: Dunn to White Sox is "likely" (hearing it from the same guy who broke the Teahen (lol) and Pierre deals before they happened, so it's somewhat trustworthy

If it does happen, I'm hoping we don't give up Hudson for a 3 month rental

Last I heard Dunn was close to signing an extension with the Nats, but if that happens damn the Sox will have a nice offense.

The only question marks right now in the Mets rotation Revolves around Takahashi, and Dickey. Takahashi really at this stage of his carrier is more of a long man in the pen than an true starter. Dickey now has to prove that he can bounce back despite a bad outing. Santana also has to prove that whatever is causing him to tip his pitches can be solved, though he has proven he can battle through tough starts and make adjustments on the mound.

Niese since coming off the DL has proven he can be dominant, one hit shut out at home, and can bounce back from bad outtings so I'm confident he'll be fine. Pelfrey has also shown he can bounce back and be effective even while struggling. Adding Lee would give the mets a shot in the arm but I'm not sure I like the cost.

Crappy injury news. Braves and Mets aren't nearly as good as they are playing(hi to you favorable schedules) and lost to the best/hottest teams they played in June.

Rollins, Howard, Werth, Victorino, Ibanez, and Ruiz(back soon) can do way more damage to opposing pitchers than the entire Braves and Mets lineup.

.....wut? Uh.. while sure, the Mets have gotten some nice scheduling help, the Braves didn't. Or did you miss where they played four in LA (who were doing well at the time) and split, split with Arizona (looking back..that's terribad), two outta three from the Twins, had three with Tampa Bay and won two (they've started to struggle at that point), three with the Royals before the White Sox, who'd been the hottest team in the MLB took 3 from Atlanta, and then 2/3 from the now first place Detroit Tigers.

So they got an easy 7 games with the Royals and Diamondbacks, and then games with top of the standings sort of teams. I think they did pretty well, all things considering. That's been with Heyward hurt as well, and Chipper's always hurt.. so Atlanta knows how to play with injuries. OH.. and Jurrjens has been out since April. Derp.

My point is.. the Braves are playing like they should be playing, and the Phillies have had bad luck with injuries. Shit happens. A shame those five you mentioned who 'could do more than the entire Braves/Mets lineups' haven't really done shit in over a month.

Don't worry though! You guys get it nice next month with four with the Pirates, four with the Cubs, three with Arizona, and two with Washington (through this month that is).. everyone gets a time where their schedule is mushy.

The Mets just played the Yankees (lost 2/3), Tigers (won 2/3), and Twins (won 2/3). I dunno, that doesn't scream "favorable schedule" to me.

He was probably talking about that run where they had the Indians and Orioles.

This just in, any team not the Phillies has a rediculously easy schedule and the phillies are basically playing the Yankees and Red Sox all year long.

Correct, no team deserves credit for anything unless it is the Phillies in Bozoworld

Marlins have worst strength of schedule so far so suck my dick.

    Phillies 8th, Mets 10th, Braves 20th.

Random insane fact: Mariano Rivera has more walks than Cliff Lee.
