Also, Alexei Ramirez is silently the best defensive shortstop in baseball this year with a UZR of 8.6, last couple years he has been hot and cold, but ever since signing Omar Vizquel (yeah, I know right?) it seems he has really learned a bit from him

Also, Konerko and Rios not making the All Star Game is hilarious, but oh well

He's only starting to fucking hit though. Why isn't he stealing anymore? He's killing me on my fantasy team. Though I'll take the home runs while they are coming, need to score more though.

Yep, once I get my ERA and whip sorted I'll stop dropping to the bottom the damn list, I got rid of most my dead weight. Passing you in the saves column is gonna help too <3

Edit: Although two of my better hitters hit the dl at the same time, Choo and Manny Ramirez. Now I have to decide whether I drop Choo or make a move to free up some space, maybe for a pitcher. Choo is out 6-8 weeks but he's a proven player, I dunno. Manny ended up on the DL with a hammy problem and those things tend to linger, there's no telling how he'll hit when he gets back or how often considering he'll need to play the field.

Once the league finally tightens up it'll be interesting to see. Seems like everyone is struggling to find the right balance of consistent bats aside from Byrd's team. Might just come down to that. I figure I can gain 2 spots maybe in the saves category and I'll be good.

LaPorta has been on an absolute tear since he got called up for Cleveland taking over for Branyan who is also on track for a 30hr season if he stays healthy so I grabbed him up. Your right though, LaPorta has had trouble in the past with making contact but he was projected to to hit 26 hrs if he could correct his avg problems and therefore Choo might not be as effective if he can't hit in front of a good 3 or 4 hitter. I'm also leaning towards getting rid of Manny due to uncertainty as I dropped Lee today. I think they are both slightly over rated, looking at own% in all ESPN leagues, but Manny was actually having a good year, hitting over 300 with 8 hrs before he got hurt. Lee on the other hand has been horrible, a career 290+ hitter sitting at 233 halfway through the season with only 10 hrs does not bode well. Sucks prolly need another few days to mull it over.

The Lee/Twins trade rumors of a done deal don't seem to be true. It just looks like the Twins offered Aaron Hicks and Wilson Ramos. I'm not sure I want to see Hicks included.

Konerko probably deserves to go, only thing against him really is the bad home/away splits. Also he's a 1B/DH and those positions are flooded with talent.

Youkilis has a better OPS. His WAR and wOBA are also higher and his UZR is much better.

UZR isn't a great stat when comparing 1B because range rarely matters, it also doesn't help that Konerko has an arthritic hip, which makes watching him play 1B so much more exciting because he makes phenomenal plays with the skill set he actually does have (You'd know this, since you see us so many times a year, he's a great 1B)

Youkilis having a higher OPS, I must've read the stat page wrong.. but I wouldn't even mind Youk making the ASG over Kong, but fucking Swisher? Ortiz? GMAFB
