Youk's got the lead over Swisher.
Youk's got the lead over Swisher.
Oh, good.
Wasn't that way last night
Aaron Harang put on the DL, Matt Maloney replaces him from AAA.
There's now 3 rookies in Cincinnati's starting rotation, and there's been a total of four this year.
Felix Doubront is making a spot start again tonight for the Sox. He walked Gabe Kapler to start the 2nd inning. Gabe Kapler was Doubront's manager in 2007 for Single-A Greenville Drive. When was the last time someone walked his former manager, if it's ever happened since the end of the player-manager?
Soooo, the Mets never score when Santana takes the mound. Today he says fuck it, I'll do it myself with a bomb off the foul pole loool nice Johan. Also now that he's not tipping his pitches he's actually getting Ks again.
Anyone see Youk just hurt himself setting up in the batters box? That's just horrible luck.
Youk probably just pulled or cramped something. He had a limp going coming off the field in the previous half-inning, and the trainer looked like he was trying to stretch out Youk's leg. Then again, this is the Red Sox so... broken fibula, out for the season
God just voted for Swish.
Of the nine Red Sox currently standing on the field, only four of them were even on the opening day 25-man roster. Uggggghhhhhhhhhh
Watching the Braves is tough, honestly. Sure they're in first.. but I dunno. They seem to struggle against most 'stud' pitchers, and tonight, they're outhitting the Phillies 10-2, yet are tied at 3. Get runners on 1st and 3rd, and will most likely come out of this empty. That's not championship ball. Ugh.
Oh well. Hopefully McCann will do something other than pop out.
I feel the same way when watching the Mets. Unless Santana or Niese or Dickey is out there, Pelf has been struggling, I don't feel confident. But I always worry that even when they pitch good our offense wont do anything. Also, Clayton Richard has been great for the Pads all year, I pick him up and he gives up 5 runs gdi. ERA up again sigh.
So apparently, a fan at the Texas/Cleveland game fell from the 2nd deck onto the field level seats during the game tonight..
Youkilis kicked at the dirt, hurt his foot, left the game.
ahahahahaha
Mo been playing hurt![]()
Definitely a blow to the Yankee's tattered bullpen, now other teams know he's basically not gonna pitch or be available in most situations.OAKLAND -- Yankees closer Mariano Rivera has removed himself from the All-Star Game, citing injuries to his left side and his right knee.
"I've been pitching hurt," Rivera said. "I know they are going to use me. I'd prefer to take those days off before the second half."
Rivera said that he has been battling the tightness in his left side that forced him to miss action in May, as well as a newer injury to his right knee, which has been inflamed since the Yankees' June 25-27 series at Dodger Stadium.
The 40-year-old Rivera said that he will not attend the festivities at Angel Stadium, instead remaining in New York to rest. Rivera was a player vote selection to the pitching staff, so he will be replaced by the next-highest-rating player in that balloting.
"It's hard -- it's a decision that I have to make for myself and the sake of the team," Rivera said. "It's a great honor, but I have to be wise."
Rivera said that he was not sure if he was available to pitch in the Yankees' remaining five games before the All-Star break, saying that would be up to manager Joe Girardi. Rivera entered Tuesday having pitched in four of New York's past five games, including a save on Monday in a 3-1 win over the A's Oakland.
"I always want to pitch," Rivera said. "Even with one arm, I'd always want to pitch. It's something that we have to take care of. We haven't taken care of it enough. We did for a little bit, but it's there."
Lol... "Even with one arm" -- I didn't realize Rivera could throw with both his arms.
As far as Youk, I think he hurt it before kicking the dirt? lol

I threw the deadspin link in. There was no footage that I know of just yet of the fan falling, but the reactions from the umps and what not made it crazy.
Alex just had a granny :3
Edit: Number 597 just left the park.
Nvm, nice edit!
