In the middle of the ninth, the score was Cardinals 9, Rockies 3.

Naturally, the Rockies scored 9 in the bottom of the ninth to win.

In other news, the Mariners can't get a break. In the eighth inning, they are only down one run, and have Ichiro on 1st with 2 outs. Branyan hits a fair ball right down the line, and a Mariner fan grabs it to make it a ground rule double. This holds Ichiro at third base, as opposed to scoring. The next batter grounds out, and the Mariners don't seriously threaten in the 9th. That kid is going to get some serious shit about that for a long time to come.

Mo will be fine, there's no way Girardi would have let him throw those 2 inning saves if he was seriously injured. It's probably just a nagging muscle pull, something like that.

Fucking power was out 12 hours last night, missed the Yankee game but woohoo A-rod!

And yea, gotta love the WPA graph from that Rockies game lol

Yea the graph it just a fancy way of showing the probability of a team winning the game. The Cardinals had about a 99.4% chance of winning at a few points, and then the Rockies made a comeback... proving you just can't predict baseball!

The bars at the bottom measure the high leverage situations, the higher the bar the more likely of it affecting the outcome of the game.

Guy is apparently going to be fine. There is footage of it on camera, but they refused to air it.

What happened was the guy turned his back to the railing in the club level (about 30 ft up) and tried to catch a foul ball that deflected off the facade there. As he reached up for it, he lost his balance and fell over the rail.

Apparently, he tried to grab on to the railing as he feel but couldn't. The four people he fell on had only minor injuries and were treated at the park. The guy that fell was rushed to the hospital and about 30 min later, news broke that he was able to move all of his limbs and was responding vocally to paramedics the entire time.

It sucks for the people he fell on though, that was wreckless and stupid. Even though im sure he will have to pay damages of some sorts, he should be fucking banned from the stadium for his own good. If you'd go that hard after a lame ass foul ball, then holy shit, you should be protected from yourself and from others at all costs.

He deserves to pay and gets Bartman'd into bolivion because that was totally senseless.

You can survive a 30 ft fall, barely injure 4 people in the process, and have your team kick the shit out of their opponents after.

In all seriousness, guy didn't go hard, just lot his bearings and couldn't regain his balance. Had he tried to lean over the rail intentionally though, I'd see your point.

I just wish to thank the Milwaukee Brewers shortstops for the past two days single handedly getting the Giants back on track. Keep up the A+ Fielding guys.

That's one of the only unknowns right now. Only thing that's been released beyond what happened was that the Rangers as an organization were relieved when they heard he'd be ok. Reading in between the lines, I take that as "thank God we don't have a wrongful death lawsuit on our hands" (the rails are seriously short) instead of "it's a drunk idiot, we won't be responsible".

    So we'll see I guess.

Shitsux. Way too many games this year we have been in then something like that happens. Both of those errors would/should have been inning ending DPs. This season is pretty much over for us. We play good for a few games then go back to being absolutely terrible for a few more.

Jake Peavy suffered a weird injury and might be done for the year.

The team described the injury as a detached latissimus dorsi muscle in his right posterior shoulder.

Peavy said the injury was so rare that he would visit or consult with two of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the country, Dr. James Andrew and Dr. Lewis Yocum, to figure out what will be his next step.

"Obviously surgery looks the way that we probably have to go and if that is it, we'll just ride it, you know," Peavy said.

"We're going to go the best road, whatever the doctors think feels best for me and my career. We're going to do it and obviously I'm going to bust it in rehab and do all I can to be back and be back feeling better and healthier than I am."

That's likely not going to be this season.

It boggles my mind how every Atl hitter is out in front on every pitch from Moyer.

Looked more like Jamie Moyer was the Philly killer that inning.
