Nothing wrong with Wieters, catcher is a hard position to find offense from once Martinez, Posada, Mauer and McCann are off the board. Wieters hits the occasional homer, that's about as much as you can hope for.

Alright, I've had him the day Martinez got injured, dropped Jose Guillen for him who was HOT @ the beginning and got real cold as of late, which worked out for me. He's been barely making 2 hits a game lately, I'll keep him though. Thanks
The thing is Wieters has performed way below expectations, yet he still hasn't been that bad. He could easily turn it around in the 2nd half, he was one of the hottest prospects in baseball last year.
Sophmore slump really, plus catching the worst pitching staff in baseball takes it's toll I'm sure. He got off to a decent start, sucked in May and most of June, and then he's been pretty decent the last few weeks. I think he could have a good second half too.
And again, not much else to choose from at catcher.
Betances should be in AA by the end of the year (Brackman's been really good also) Sanchez has a live arm (upper 90's, but he doesn't really know where the ball is going) Russo's appeared in two innings this month, why the fuck he's still up, I don't know.
Miranda is decent, but Jorge Vazquez is better.
Another HR for Hamilton. NOM NOM NOM
Swish 4 for 4 tonight.
God damn Yankees, you guys need to drop a few and do my Rays a solid. Really annoyed at how good our division is, best two records in baseball, highest two scoring teams, far and away best scoring difference, pitching etc etc.
At least we are winning games we should be winning. Still cant believe some of the games we lost a few weeks ago during that infuriating skid. Pretty happy to only be two games back really, considering how poor tampa was doing for a while there.
Time for baseball to mix up the divisions or something. Are they aware there is one division with 6 teams and one with 4, while the rest have 5? XD
So Jayson Werth got pissed off when a fan caught a foul ball aimed straight at him in the top of the 12th.

GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY
As terrible as Jayson has been lately, I can understand his frustration, but he was totally a dick to the kid and his dad about catching the ball.
The Yankees are about to get Lee and trade Vazquez for Werth, so good luck with that "doing the Rays a solid" thing.
Also the leagues are imbalanced for a reason, obviously. If they balanced it there would be an uneven number of teams in both leagues, which would either force daily interleague games or 2 teams being off every day which would be a scheduling nightmare.
I read something a little while ago (I think it was on yahoo) that suggested MLB do away with divisions entirely, move a team into the AL, and make it so that each team plays the other 14 in their league 11 times apiece, with 8 games left over for interleague. Would be interesting to just have the four best records go to the playoffs from each league, instead of division winners + wild card. I'll see if I can find the article.

I'm very surprised that the Yankees ended up being the ones closest to a deal. Everyone has known for awhile who the Yanks top prospects are and that they want to trade him. If the Mariners were going to just listen to offers from other teams without really considering, they've really fucked themselves. They could have quietly traded Lee earlier and gotten a bigger return. Whatever, I didn't expect the mets to have enough to get him but this whole thing is a big fucking joke the way Jack Z is working here.
The way I hear it is that Cashman said he'd be willing to part with Montero but the Ms never got back to him about it, so he figured they had a better package somewhere. I guess now they came back to him with something.
And this can't be the only move. They must be getting someone along with Lee from the Ms, and they must be moving a starter (prob Vazquez) to make room in the rotation. Guess we'll see.
I'm personally not going to speculate, I'm interested to see what kind of deal they have cooked up, I'm excited about it, but I really didnt think they would deal for him this year. I thought they would wait till next year and not give up prospects, but dont know the deal just yet.
Just keep him in the AL, please.![]()
9:35am: The Lee-Yankees deal is "just about done," an executive involved in the negotiations tells ESPN.com's Buster Olney (Twitter link). An official with a team interested in Lee tells Ed Price of AOL FanHouse that the Mariners appear to be negotiating exclusively with the Yankees (Twitter link).
See I fucking knew it, what a waste of time lol. Mets fans are going to be pissed when it happens considering they had a shot, albeit a long shot to get Lee. Minaya is a fucking slob of a gm. I have no idea how they ever made that Santana trade work out.
Is Lee supposed to pitch tonight? Lol.
