Speaking of Cano, I think a lot of his improvement has to due with Melky being gone, and here is why. I used to work overnights, and coming home I would usually listen to whoever was on WFAN 660. I used to hear callers almost at least once a month call in and say "You know, I just left this club at 4am, Cano and Melky were there, they were fuckin' hammered." and without fail, you could watch them both go a combined 0-8 or something the next day. I think between that and his patience at the plate (sitting at 28 walks right now this year, as opposed to 30 total for last season) has made a huge impact in his production.

I keep waiting for them to break out like they always do this time of year, but I don't think its gonna happen. Injuries are hard enough to deal with, but when the entire team outside of Howard, Halladay, and Polanco are performing well below career averages its too much to overcome.
