Wow, 2 hour rain delay, Mike Leake bats in the bottom of the fifth, but is replace in the top of the 6th by Micah Owings.

Owings hasn't pitched in 16 days and has an 8-1 lead. Well, 2 pitchers later it's now 8-6....

Sweet jesus I hate this team.

    edit: Wow 8-7....

The Rays blow not one, but two leads to the Orioles in the 9th and 12th innings and lose in extras. And I thought the Yankees loss tonight was bad. Ouch.

No kidding, was fucking painful to watch. Hard to be pissed off at Soriano for blowing the lead considering how good he has been this season, but god damnit its the Orioles.

I know the cubs are shit but Lou is a hall of fame manager and a major baseball news story.

Don't get me wrong I glad he is gone but he does deserve some respect.

Not in the last two years.

I wished he would choke a bitch to get this team fired up but the last two season he really didn't give a fuck.

yeah, a calm Lou is depressing.

And the Dbacks continue to fatten up on the Mets despite homeruns by Josh Thole and Angel Pagan. For fucks sake this offense needs to wake up. Only three runs given up by Dickey, should be two I don't know how Wright wasn't charged with an Error on a play that would have ended the inning but whatever.

Anyone watching this hilarious Dodgers/Giants game? Lincecum was wild as fuck, let one warmup pitch and one in-game pitch slip from his hand and sail 20 feet up and land on the grass between him and home plate, then headhunted and finally beaned a guy. Clayton Kershaw got tossed along with the bench coach for beaning someone else.

And just now, with Broxton up to save a bases loaded 1-run game, batting coach Don Mattingly came out for a meeting on the mound, walked off the mound, got asked a question by James Loney, turned back around and stepped back on the mound (which technically means two visits) so Broxton had to be pulled, and George Sherill (who wasn't even warming up) came in and promptly gave up a 2-run double to fall behind 6-5.

I hope this goes into extra innings because it's hilarious.

I forgot to mention that the in-game straight up pitch Lincecum threw - the umpire forgot to record it as a ball, so the hitter should've walked on ball 4 but the umpire only had ball 3. He then singled.

Supposedly the Phillies are working a trade for a stater and will trade Werth in a complimentary deal? Sounds interesting.
They were saying on the radio that the starter is likely Oswalt, and Werth would be going to the Rays. At least thats the rumor around here right now.

They also recalled Happ from AAA, where he has been getting shelled since coming off the DL. I guess he can't be much worse than what we've been getting from the old man and Kendrick lately.

If Broxton still has an arm after this year it'll be a miracle.

According to some sources, they have Oswalt going to Philly and Werth going to the Rays in 2 separate deals. Oswalt has to approve the deal but he says he wants to go to a team like Halladay did, so yeah..

Philly is trying to clear a spot for some supposedly really good minor league OF'er they have, forgot his name.

I wouldn't understand that. Oswalt is due a ton of money. It basically ensures the Phillies won't be able to sign anyone in the offseason.

Dominic Brown, baseball's #15 overall minor league prospect. He has a .915 OPS this year in AAA so.. I guess they figure he's ready for a callup. He has big shoes to fill if he's replacing Werth, though.

Oswalt is due what, 16m or more next season? The phils are still handicapped by Ibanez's bad contract, maybe they finally realize that they can't sign werth despite a down year. I wonder though, even if this is a move for next year, they basically can't make any other moves except for getting bench players, and their bullpen is a mess. They'd have to hope Happ comes back strong too. It's interesting, but I don't think it's enough.

Second day in a row Cano has gotten an IBB in the first inning. Today, it's with 2 outs. Dude's getting straight up Barry Bond'ed recently.
