Holy shit at Pete Rose's hat, rofl. We put those things on for sale for $5 and no one touches it.

Montero still hasn't made an out since Sunday. Full on beast mode.

Maybe he should come up to the Majors and kill it like Mike Stanton!

Montero is on a swing count, they are monitoring him closely. He is drawing a lot of walks now so he can last longer.

hahaha well I was onboard with the Lee trade after I thought about it, was pretty much a win win. Get one of the best pitchers in baseball or keep the best hitting prospect the Yankees have had in a long time. I don't want to see him in the majors until September callups or next year, though.

Stanton isn't doing that bad... .725 OPS in 134 PA. Needs to get on base more and cut down the Ks, but a .204 ISO is pretty impressive for a 20 year old rookie lol

PS Another single for Montero, 3/3 and 9 for his last 10. His last game was against the 7th overall pick in 2008, so nice to see he's doing it against brand names too.

Andd the Mets might get swept out here in AZ again. Even though they've gotten to Haren Niese hasn't been perfect but fucks sake 3 runs is not a lot to overcome against Haren.

Edit: Well mets tied it and Bobby Parnell just struck out Tony Abreu with a 101mph Fastball rofl. Hopefully his arm wont explode like Zumaya's did for throwing that hard.

I stopped watching when Ollie made it into the game. Oh boy we got swept by a team that's 20+ games under 500. That's fucking amazing.

Also the mets are now trying to trade Francouer now that he has lost his job to Angel Pagan. And while it's a shame because frenchy is a nice guy and plays great defense, he just hasn't done shit at the plate this year to justify starting.

As for Frenchy yeah he's hit for crap most of the season and proven to be to streaky to be a reliable starter but you know what? Unlike Beltran he at least looks like he gives a damn while he's out there. Beltran has been the same way for years where he really looks like he just doesn't give a crap out there anymore. He has all the talent in the world but doesn't seem to have the passion anymore.

Uh.... yeah I know it's easy to get drawn into that "doesn't look like he cares" stuff but it's utter crap. Beltran is laid back and soft spoken, Frenchy is loud and outspoken. No part of that translates into baseball talent.

In 44 at-bats in July, Frenchy hit .114/.170/.159 with 1 rbi and 2 extra base hits. On a team struggling for offense, you can't stand for that out of a corner OF spot. Bay has been terrible, but in the last month Francoeur has been a disaster. Beltran may have lost a step in the OF, but he's clearly a superior player.

Beltran has never really been a leader, he's a guy who would go out there give you what's he got on the field and that's it. Frenchy was popular because he was outgoing and fun, but you can't win games on that alone. His defense only goes so far when you consider that he's not hitting at all.

If they do trade frenchy it's going to dampen the mood on that clubhouse but you know what, at this point if they don't start winning there's no guarantee any of those players stay together.

With all that said, the team offensively and maybe defensively as well, despite the arm of frenchy, is better off without him when they are hitting. The fact is the Mets made a major investment in Bay that should have stabilized the power until Wright and Beltran were back and performing at their career norms. Bay has clearly lost his stroke and instead of just settling down he's pressing more and more in each at bat and progressively getting worse. I was one of the people saying we needed pitching on the team more so than offense, but we've gotten great pitching from unlikely sources and the offense has just disappeared. 1 run is not enough to consistently win ball games and when you consider the way the team is made up, how is it even possible that they can only score 1 run a game is beyond me.

    Some things never change.

Nice 8-0 win today after the shitty extra inning loss last night. Marlins next.

I wonder if he's worse this year than he was with the braves last year? lol

Looking at his stats it doesn't seem that way, but his ABs were always painful to watch. Keep in mind he was a hometown hero, fan favorite, and best buds with McCann, but moving him really didn't seem to effect us. He is just one of those guys with a ton of physical tools who just can't get it together, whether it is a mental thing or if he just can never have a good major league approach at the plate. Kind of similar to Billy Beane if anyone has read Moneyball.

Posada has made two of the dumbest plays I've ever seen on a baseball field tonight.
