obviously the firesales work
obviously the firesales work
if you don't care about consistency, sure
I guess being inconsistent at winning is better than being consistent at losing.
If you consider the literal definition of fire sale, only '98 was. Because they got shit in return except D-Lee and traded incredibly valuable players for nothing simply to free up money. The championship in '03 was not the after math of a fire sale.
I don't really consider '06 a fire sale because they blew up a flawed team. They won 83 games both in '04 and '05, and the core was getting older and shittier and more expensive. Beckett was really the only good player traded and the return for him is now a top-3 player in baseball. The core they got from blowing that team up is > the core that they blew up AND it came incredibly cheaper. That's not a "fire sale", that's smart transactions.
"Consistency" can suck my ass. If you're talking about the rosters, ALL teams have turnovers and the Marlins have had some of the least turnover since '06. If you're talking about winning games, they're a .500 team since '06, and that includes a terrible '07.
People want to trade for Oswalt? lol
In his defense, he's been pretty good considering who he's playing for, but I'd be scared of an injury issue, especially with as much as Houston's asking for
Ummm Oswalt is dirty. ERA around 3, WHIP around 1.2 during his time on the Astros that have had some shit teams to say the least, and he can strike your ass out. If his pricetag wasnt 16mil along with his demands of being guaranteed the same the last year of his contract teams would be clamoring Halladay style to get him.
Nigga's gettin' shelled.
Lol so I see he was getting facialed by the Reds...better than the Pirates or something.
Holy shit those things the Marlins fans are beating on are loud.
God I love Stanton's raw power
That's probably a line drive out for majority of ML hitters with how he hit it.
It's gonna be awesome when he really connects with one.
lol, and the academy award goes to...Brian McCann.
C'mon, he was practically jumping out of the way of that.
ANNNND AGAIN. The mets have lost again in walk off fashion, their 14th walk off loss.
One out of every 4 losses as a walkoff? ouch
Wonder if Jerry is the manager by Monday? I still can't believe Omar flies out there and then jokes around with Jerry about signing an extension. If that were my team I'd be screaming for blood. Team's playing like crap, have about 30 holes that need filling... and you fly out to the west coast to crack some jokes?
Thank you Marlins bullpen.
Arrrgh, Marlins bullpen haven't shown they can throw strikes and Mclouth swings at the first pitch with the bases loaded and no one out.
CONRAD GRAND SLAM!
Again.. thank you Marlins bullpen
fucking sigh
