I don't think that interim tag will be removed from the D-backs GM.

Phils looking good lately. Also, god damn you Brad Lidge...you have single handedly taken 4-5 years off my life.
'OH GOD THE PHILLIES ARE DONE THEY ARE PLAYING LIKE SHITTTT' ...yeah. Sup four game sweep. Told you bastards not to worry.
Just recently, after a four game sweep of the Reds, they lost 6 games out of 8 to the Cubs and Cardinals. Still plenty of cause for concern.
Right. You seem to forget the Braves offense isn't *that* great, and now they are pitching rather mediocre. Again, nothing to worry about, lol
Well, Lowe, Hanson, and Medlen pitched mediocre lately. Jurrjens, outside of the 4 run inning he had has been pitching well, and Hudson's been awesome.
I'm not chiding anybody for being concerned for their team. You have every right to be concerned if the Braves aren't playing very well. The only difference is that the Braves have a 4.5 game lead as of this afternoon. I want to see more evidence of consistency before I'm really going to believe that the team can catch the Braves at all.
and the Braves are 5-5 so far in the second half. This is what I thought the Braves were to begin with; a .500 team. They won't win a division going .500 the rest of the way because I'm pretty damn sure the Phillies are on one of those huge winning streaks. They've got the D-Backs coming up next, and won't have to see Haren since he's in LA now, so.. yeah. The Braves have Strasburg to deal with in a series with the Nats, then they have to go to Cincy. So yeah, it's gonna be a tough road trip for them.
It's been great to see the Braves in 1st, but I'm one of those fans that aren't blinded by records 40-50% through the season. They need to make changes in the OF before shit picks up. One would be getting McLouth out of here. Dude's a waste of a roster spot. Gregor Blanco was doing so much better and was a bigger spark for the team. :/
See, I know the Reds need to do something to their bats to make sure they stay in the postseason race, but I don't see where because all their guys can get super hot...
They also need bullpen help, but who the fuck is out there that's reliable lol

All I know is that the Phillies are in the same situation...
Braves are right up there with the Padres and Reds as the class of the NL though... they clearly have one of the best pitching staffs in the majors. I wouldn't be so down on them. And really, everyone in the majors with the possible exception of the Rays and Yankees have glaring flaws somewhere.
Do you read Peter Abraham? He's so messed up it's hilarious. A week ago he was getting in fights with people on his blog who were saying the Red Sox were in trouble. After Oki blew it last night, he started his article with "Is this the day the season ended?"
Hilarious. The Red Sox season isn't over, but fighting people who think they're in trouble is retarded too.
Gotta love that trap.
This little win streak is nice but I'm still not sold on us catching the Braves or winning the Wild Card yet.
Our bullpen is absolutely horrendous with no real hopes of improvement. Our starters beyond Halladay and Hamels are completely unreliable. Our lineup still isn't hitting well, and Utley won't be back for another month.
On the plus side Cholly seems to have figured out that Blanton can't pitch more than 6 innings, and that platooning Ibanez and Francisco is a good idea (why he still has such a hard on for Lidge though is beyond me). Werth isn't overswinging so much lately and is finally getting some key hits and RBI's.
As for trades I think we should get a #3 type starter (Carmona is my preference but the Phils supposedly don't like him), and another infielder like Wiggington. I don't see Werth getting traded but if he does it will hopefully be for something like I just said.
WELCOME BACK WEITERS
no Orioles discussion allowed.
My fantasy team has been putting out less than Michael Cera. I take anything..... ANYTHING.
