lol, I like how last year some Phillies fans were saying Happ was better than Tommy Hanson, now he is overrated

Cantu to the Rangers huh? Good for him, I always liked that guy
I'm not scared, I'm excited!
Although I'm not happy the Phillies got Oswalt...
2nd series loss in a row incoming for Atl against crappy teams in their own division.
3:23pm: The Marlins will obtain AA righties Evan Reed and Omar Poveda from the Rangers according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (via Twitter). The latter is on the disabled list, recovering from Tommy John surgery.
That's selling Cantu a bit short no? A guy on the DL recovering from Tommy John surgery? He's always been a clutch hitter for the fish. And they are paying his salary.
Last year Happ was better by all accounts. He's just got lucky and doesn't have much higher of a ceiling and is quite old (28).
And sure there are a lot of pitchers better than Oswalt, but which of those are available and at such a ridiculously cheap cost?
I didn't think you could trade a player that was on the DL?
DERP!
Yep. Braves sure are one of the better teams in the NL! Two straight series losses to the 4th and 5th place teams. gg.
And of course Phillies fans are going to say they're happy about getting Oswalt and ditching Happ.
Also, I'm pretty damned sure if the Phillies tried hard enough, they could have kept Cliff Lee and gotten Halladay as well. The shit the GM's feeding you now is just so he doesn't look as bad as everyone sees him for flubbing that whole thing up, lol
Every trade from now until our GM leaves the team is invariably going to include someone saying "So what? They didn't keep Lee!!" Jesus Christ, some Philly fans need to get over it.
I can see the logic in trading Lee, but I agree the prospects they got back isn't a prime haul. Happ had a solid rookie campaign, but has contributed nothing to this season and is older than Cole Hamels.
I heard rumblings about Jose Bautista coming to Philly. Sure it'd be a rental, but holy shiiiit... 30HR guy on your bench?
Polanco @ 2nd, Bautista @ 3rd when Utley comes back from the DL Platoon him with Raul in LF (He's listed as an OF, not sure if its RF or LF).
Bautista has never hit more than 16 homers before this year. He's 29 years old. I'd be skeptical of him keeping up that kind of production lol
And you're saying he doesn't deserve what he'd ask for? Cliff Lee's floated around teams the last couple years now, and I don't know why. At least at the end of this year, the Yanks can lock him up and continue to stockpile wtftalent.
As far as the Braves go, if they don't suck it up and dump McLouth (because let's face it, dude's ass, especially at Turner Field), then they don't have a shot to hold onto the East, much less a Wild Card. They picked a very bad year to get decent again, what with the NL West being pretty good with SD/SF/LA/Colorado (though they are struggling) and then with the Cards/Reds in the Central.
So with Strasburg on the DL now, the NL Rookie of the Year race opens up more. People keep fapping over Buster Posey, but the name I never hear brought up is...
...John Axford.
6-1, 15 saves in 16 opportunities (best save% in MLB), 2.73 ERA - and maybe most amazingly - in 29 appearances (all of which were at least 1.0 IP) he has never allowed more than 1 run (earned or unearned).
Plus he has a sweet fucking moustache.

No.
why not?
What more could he do to earn your love?
