Look man. I'll even sweeten the deal.
You can also have Fukodome and since I really like you I'll toss in a Carlos silva.
Deal?

Silva has actually had a good season until whatever calf injury started to affect the way he was pitching.
You're just jealous.
Deal is done, but due to some technicality bullshit it can't be announced until 24 hours later.
No idea. He'll probably DH for the Yanks.
Nevermind on Ross. Seems like he's available for 'the right deal'.. Sox ans Braves in the running. I do think he'd be an improvement on what we have, though.

Hahahaha, yes, continue por favor.Buster_ESPN
Heard this: The Astros are picking up a lot of the money owed to Lance Berkman in their agreement with the Yankees, and the NYY won't be giving up any major prospects.#trades
lol, if that's true the Astros got straight up robbed by the Phillies and Yankees
Wow, the Astros are fucking terrible at dumping salary.
he plays HORRIBLE defense (like, worst starting 3b in the majors horrible) and his hitting is rather overrated cuz of RBIs (103 OPS+ last 3 years, 90+ this year).
His production v.s. what it took to get him was awesome since he was just a MILB FA, <3 him while he was here. But Logan Morrison is replacing him and should outproduce him, and we get about 1.5m freed up, and Poveda is a pretty serious prospect that wasn't talked much about prior because of how stacked the rangers are. It's big risk/reward because maybe he never throws another pitch, but if he comes back to form where he was before then that's a good return for cantu.
Ed Wade is earning that "Worst GM in the History of Sports" title this year. Nobody rapes a farm system and signs more shitty, washed up guys than him (including Minaya). The guy has done far more good for the Phillies since he was fired as our GM than he did when he was with us.lol, if that's true the Astros got straight up robbed by the Phillies and Yankees
Also Oswalt sucks, trade his ass.
I don't expect it to go to Garcia cuz I don't expect him to keep up his pace. Stanton is heating up (.895 OPS in July) and Heward is coming back strong since his injury (.929 OPS since).
I would say Heyward is still the favorite. I'm hoping Stanton can mash enough HRs to enter in the voters hearts though 8)
Hey look.. Braves pitching pitching like shit. Balk by Medlan moves Phillips to 2nd, who gets driven in by a bloop single by Cabrera and now the wheels have completely come off. Oh how I love watching the Bravos when they struggle like hell.
Oh and they traded Mitch Jones to Pittsburgh for cash. Braves win the deadline!
Ah, yeah. Those awards are pretty arbitrary anyway, especially this year with a ton of young stars who've come up and performed.
We just don't have any margin for error right now. 2 somewhat unlucky plays(balk+bloop) lead to a 3 run inning. You have to be able to win games where your starter gives up 3 ER in 6 IP, or even 4 ER in 5 IP with the bullpen putting up zeroes. You won't have a Tim Hudson going 7 or 8 strong every night. It has to be incredibly frustrating for Medlen to give up that bloop, because he is probably thinking "There goes my win!"
And yay Mac!
Astros are paying 4m of the 7.5 owed to Berkman. l o fucking l
