They traded a 20 year old (Tim Collins) who posted a 15 K/9 in AA this year. Collins was packaged in the Escobar/Gonzalez trade, so that trade is even worse now. Hilarious stuff.

Yeah. That Escobar/Gonzalez trade is now beyond one-sided, and instead, we got an ex-pitcher now position player who's aging (and was hurt this year), and the reliever that blew our lead in the game against the Astros in our last playoff appearance where it went 18 innings. Gg Wren.

He's been hurt, and his stats are inflated by a 5 run inning he gave up. Good depth if he's healthy, waste if he's not. They only gave up money, though.

Anyone is an upgrade over Chan Ho fucking Park. Expectations for low are easily obtainable for Wood when he is healthy. Im not super excited about it, but both he and Berkman come as a result of no real loss. How bout them red sox tho? Wheeling and dealing this trade deadline.

But then why trade for him in the first place.

Our biggest need was a right handed power hitter and Wren failed there.

Our minor league pitching is so ridiculously deep that i think we could have given up some in a trade. Just don't make another Wainwright mistake for a rental.
