What the fuck is that and why should anyone give a shit?

I find it amusing that NFL fans shit on baseball stats and then turn around and willingly talk about QB rating, which is as complicated (if not more complicated) than any MLB stat!

Also WAR is just a metric to see how much better a player is than your run of the mill AAA replacement player. It's too bad there's no NFL equivalent, or the Bungles could have seen that your average college draftee is better than TO

Alright flip lopez drove in a run, making up for his error. You could hear all 43,000 people in busch stadium groan when that ball went past him. I understand that he is absolutely not a 3rd basemen but damn some of his errors just look terrible.

Was at the gym, didn't even bother watching the game. Good decision I see as the braves came all over santana's face. I realize the Braves aren't a power house team, but the Mets are really just that bad. They just are not an offensive team. If Reyes, Pagan, and Wright don't do all the heavy lifting the team loses. Ike is still learning and feeling his way through. His pitch recognition isn't good enough yet to make him a legit threat. Ah whatever, maybe when we off load some of these faggots like perez and castillo we can actually get some improvements on the team.

Edit: I think there was a stat from the Dback's series that said the Mets lineup after Wright in the 3 hole over the course of the series was actually hit-less during a long stretch of that series. 3 man lineup go.

Outside of the 1st inning, Santana pitched great. He gave up a homer to Chipper in the 7th, and gave up 3 in the 1st.. but struck out 11 and looked great otherwise.

Cleveland loses half their baseball team to trade/injury, Lebron leaves, and Mangini is head coach of the Browns. I tell myself that every time I feel bad about one of my sports teams.

Dude, Matt Diaz is hitting over 500 lifetime against Santana, its insane. It's also the second time in two starts that he was unable to get a scoreless first or minimize the damage at that rate. Cards lit him up in the first last start by just hitting the first pitch in each AB. His shit is flat right now.

Edit: Link me to that Carlos Santana thing, that sucks though he looks like a promising player.

Rays brought up young stud pitcher Jeremy Hellickson. Pretty solid debut, 7 IP, 2 ER, 3 Hits, 6 SO and got the W. Imagine they will use him similar to how they started with Price two years ago, start a games here and there and get some work in the bullpen. Love how awesome the Rays farm system is. So many starters and key contributors atm are home grown, great stuff.

Yankees and Boston lose against inferior opponents and Rays win to go up even with the Yank = Great night!
