What an inning. Up 4-1, Cordero 5 and 4 pitch walks 2 batters, leaves the bases loaded with 1 out, score at 4-2. Masset comes in, strikes out D. Lee, then walks the next batter. 4-3. Then strikes out Marlon Byrd on a pitch outside.

Glad I didn't purchase mlb tv last night to watch todays game.

    It'll come eventually.

He always has to have one bad inning.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports first reported (via Twitter) that Cora would be "bumped" from the major league roster in order to make room for Ruben Tejada. Feliciano's demotion clears a spot on the roster for Fernando Martinez.

As David Lennon of Newsday points out (via Twitter), by releasing Cora, the Mets avoid seeing the 34-year-old's 2011 option vest. Cora needed to play in just 18 more games to trigger the $2MM option."

Now they brought up Tejada which means castillo has to take a seat on the bench, and now we get to see more of Fmart on an already crowded outfield. Thanks Minaya, this will definitely help sell some tickets!
Did you want Cora around for next year too? Because that was a vesting option not an incentive, meaning the Mets would have automatically picked up his 2m option for next year. I don't think you wanted that.

Probably not, but my point was, if they're going to eat cora's contract they better fucking eat ollie's contract. Apparently that's too much money to eat. Steve Somers the otherday said that they should hire that guy who won the LI, hot dog eating contest, to eat the contracts of Ollie and Castillo, and if that didn't work he should eat Ollie and castillo. I just find it funny lol. They had no choice but to cut cora, and with the mets it's always something. Kill the clubhouse to save some money. whatever.

They didn't eat Cora's contract though, they prevented an option from kicking in which is saving money, not eating it. So it's different from Ollie. But yeah, they clearly are in "save money" mode. Cheap bastards.

I'm sure Cora will end up managing somewhere, as much as everyone talks about it.

Same thing to an extent but yeah you're right lol. What is retarded is that unless they bench castillo, they are really going to stunt the development of Tejeda who has to learn to hit, otherwise they should of kept cora. Castillo can't even turn double plays anymore for fucks sake. I bet you these orders came right from the Wilpons who seem completely out of touch with the team.

Edit: Well at least Tejeda will be out there

"Manager Jerry Manuel indicated Ruben Tejada will be the every second baseman for a "period of time," essential sending Luis Castillo to the bench. Manuel added that Fernando Martinez will platoon with Jeff Francoeur, with Martinez facing right-handed pitching and therefore the bulk of the action. "

Typical way for the Mets to blow the no hitter too. Strike out the batter for what would be the third out if the catcher stops it and then give up a hit to the next batter that should never have gotten up yet.

Hudson improved to 130-2 in 155 career starts when his team scores at least three runs while he's still in the game.
    Holy shit.

If it wasn't for Tommy Hanson, Hudson would be a lock for the Cy Young

Tommy Hanson will most likely win the Cy Young, it's a shame Hudson's great season will be overshadowed

He wouldn't even be in my top 5 if I were voting.

If you are referring to Hanson, woosh

If you are referring to Hudson, I would say Wainwright and Josh Johnson are 1a and 1b, but Hudson belongs in the discussion with Ubaldo, Halladay, Latos, and Carpenter.

Hudson has been pretty consistent. Ubaldo and Johnson have tapered off a bit. Wainwright would probably be my pick if I had to choose today.
