If Cards make the playoffs, Jaime Garcia will win ROY, if not, Buster Posey.
Also, like 17k to see Chapmania ; ; I want to see a MLB slugger put contact on a 105 MPH fastball. No idea what would happen. Sound. Bat shatter. Then 14 people looking around for the ball.
Also, will trade Aaron Harang for a hot dog vendor.
Ok, I'm looking at both Heyward's and Posey's stats, and I'm sorry I don't see how this would even be close, outside of the preseason hype.
Posey
SPLITS G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
Season 80 303 40 100 19 2 10 52 18 41 0 1 .330 .372 .505 .877
Heyward
SPLITS G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
Season 112 411 73 114 25 4 16 64 67 104 9 5 .277 .387 .474 .862
Heyward has 32 more games on posey, but only 14 more hits, 6 more doubles, 2 more triples (and posey is a fucking catcher), 6 more home runs and 12 more rbi's. How is this even considered close?
It'll all depend on how the last month goes. Heyward went like a month without a homer because he was playing injured and didn't wanna go on the DL. During that month his average sunk down to like .220. He's on a tear now that he's healthy, so we'll see.
Also, Heywards buddy, Freddie Freeman just got called up since rosters expanded and he'll be spelling Lee at first once in a while. Freeman was named the Triple-A International League’s Rookie of the Year after hitting .319 with 18 homers and 87 RBIs. Having his friend along may also help him, not that he hasn't already settled in.
I'm wondering if the acquisition of Arias in the Francouer trade could be a sign that the Mets have no intention of having Castillo on the team next season now especially with the way John Ricco was talking Arias up after the trade was announced? I was definitely a Francouer fan and think he's the perfect RF for Citifield but yeah his hitting just wasn't coming back around for whatever reason.
There is a lot of homer up in here, fighting for the right to join the ranks of Todd Hollandsworth, Scott Williamson and Chris Coghlan. I'm perfectly happy with Castro and Colvin not winning NL ROY, lol.
Personally, I'm waiting for Posey to hit that slump that all rookies go through, because it's bound to happen.
He's had a couple of mini slumps. I know a big one is bound to happen though sooner or later.
Freeman starting tonight for Atl.
Yeah, and people who think this race is already over based on Posey's absurd numbers right now.. well that's just absolutely silly. If he goes on a 0-22 slump, or something another, the race could change. Also, as unfair as it is, the Giants not making the playoffs (possibly) may hurt his chances. Then again, the Braves may not make 'em too with how Phily is heating up.
and @Alderaan -- Really? Already? Ugh.
I hyped Tommy Hanson to my roommate for about a year before he hit the bigs and he wasn't jinxed so I wouldn't worry about it.
Looks like the Red Sox meltdown is in full swing.
Fuck Nyger Morgan
Ahem
Gaby Sanchez for rookie of the year:

Fuck you Nyger Morgan you fuck
A-ROLD hit 104 twice.
his only two balls lol...
What the fuck is going on there lol.
Nyger apparently was appealing a 7 game suspension after throwing a ball at a fans head (yeah)
He bumped in to a catcher at home and didn't touch the base, Pudge touched him, and he went back to get the base, but the ump called it out because of Pudge's outside bench interference or something. He flips his shit.
Then he ran in to the marlins catcher and dislocated his shoulder.
Volstad beamed him the back in an earlier morning and that broke out
