Man, I really don't get Joe Maddon sometimes. Feel like he way over-thinks things, why the hell doesn't John Jaso get more playing time. All hes done is lead the team in OBP, 3rd in BA and 4th in OPS and I'm sure some of you advanced stat guys can pull some other numbers out. It even kills you more when looking at our other catchers: Shoppac and his .189 BA, and now Dioner mother fucking Navarro is back from the minors. Theres no reason for Jaso not to be in the gd game, even if hes not catching he should be DH then...our other DHs have been shit too. /rage

Solid game for Price at least, pitching bails us out again.

Ok to whoever started the bg fantasy ESPN league: HAVE SOMEONE FIX IT. I think I'm going to hang myself if I can only accrue points through hitting.

Just saw the Nats/Marlins thing. Both guys are fucking stupid. I don't care if it's 4-3 or 14-3, first place or last place team. You've already beaned the guy once, and you throw behind him again? You know what's coming. I love how Morgan was acting all badass, too bad he got his shit wrecked by Sanchez, lol. Needs more Kyle Farnsworth body slams though, maybe he can pull this shit in Atlanta after his suspension.

God I could not agree more about both Navarro and Jaso. I was so happy Navarro was thrown back into the minors because all he does is stink up the joint, and now he's back? Why? Do we really need three catchers? I'm serious here, I don't know, but really? Three catchers? And Jaso has been phenomenal. I'd love to see him play more.

Another question if you know the answer, what happened with Baldelli? Didn't we lose him at the end of last year? /cornfuzed

And I'm glad to see the Rays are back to playing baseball tonight as opposed to playing ring around the roses like they were last night. I swear, sometimes it's like two completely different teams out there. I hope Niemann can get his shit back together, too.

Then he ran in to the marlins catcher and dislocated his shoulder.

Volstad beamed him the back in an earlier morning and that broke out

I think Volstad threw behind him because he stole second and third when they were down by like, 10. Oh well, Morgan got rocked.

Oh I know why he did it, but it's still stupid. You throw at a guy once, message sent. Morgan didn't get the message because he's a punk bitch, but you throw at him again and then you get tossed and probably suspended. If you're up so big, you put in the last guy in your bullpen and all your bench players and then throw at him again, lol.

Yeah but about the Marlins bullpen, its not that great right...

I agree it was kind of ballsy on Volstad's end, but as Wes Helms said in a post game interview, its better to get all the negative energy out now and focus on the road ahead.

Niemann has gotten rocked since coming back from the DL, really disappointing. Hope he gets his form back asap, he was consistent as hell before. Never gave up more than 5 runs (only twice i think) and was always giving 6, 7, occasionally 8+ innings of work. Last two starts since coming back, 10 ER in 3.1 innings and 7 ER in 5...just terrible, by far his worst games of the season.

Baldelli was playing for Boston in 2009, but he never really did jack shit and kept having health issues. Rays picked him up as a coach or something this year then eventually sent him to the minors where hes been working his way up I guess. I knew he was up to AAA but didn't really expect to see him back lol.

I really liked this Brignac kid too. Hes young though, and his defense needs work I guess. Maddon really loves to emphasize defense, which I'm fine with....but Bartlett is having a mediocre to poor season batting after tearing shit up last year. Really same story for Zobrist too.

I just don't see any reason not to have Jaso in the game though, DH or catcher.

If your other catching options are so horrible, and your team is all but a lock for the playoffs, why do you WANT your best catcher playing now? I agree with Joe Maddon. Aside from the potential for Jaso having an injury that the public doesn't know about (he's a catcher, so this is a definite), just giving the guy some rest is fine this time of year. Who cares if Navarro is on the roster? They expanded on Sept.1, so they might as well call up 15 warm bodies just for the hell of it. It's not like they had to remove anyone from the active roster to add him and Baldelli.

Wow ok, why can people in the league accumulate pitching stats and I can't. I've been stuck at 89 wins even though I should have accumulated 10 in the time it's been stuck. Now someone just tied me even though 2 of my starters won games tonight. Man wtf.

Sounds like someone already hit an innings or games started cap.

For the last two weeks, this is what it's looked like:

    P David Price, TB SP

    Tor
W 2-1 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Now, he just pitched tonight and won, so really? Nothing registers at fucking all. I see it's working for other teams in the league and I'm fucking losing points when I shouldn't be.

Edit: I'd love to know what the cap is, because I've got 202 GS, and less innings than Moss' team. So idk.

Innings cap for ESPN leagues is usually 200. You probably had 3 starts that last day you were eligible. Way to blow your load with a month left.

Meh. I've been looking for a few days now to see if there was something like that and I couldn't come across it. At least now I can understand why.

Also is Infante a pain in the ass to every other team? Or does he only hit against the Mets like that.

    Hanson with a gem tonight(where you at Aki?) 7 IP 1H 1BB 0 ER 3K

As for the brawl, it has been obvious for some time that Nyjer Morgan is a punk. His first plunking was deserved. However, unwritten rules be damned, stealing bases with your team DOWN 10 runs, still only in the 4th inning, does not deserve being thrown at, behind, whatever.

Volstad should've held him better. Even if you're up by 11, you play to win the game.

I don't care what folks say about Morgan. Didn't the Marlins throw at other people with the Nats too? And yeah, so he ran over that catcher and hurt him.. big deal. Is he supposed to tap the catcher on the shoulder and ask him to please vacant the area around the plate so he can score? I dunno. Dude may be a douche, but maybe the Marlins should've been less pussyish.

Also, Infante's been on a tear for a while. And yeah, Shizon. You just went past your games started limit is all.
