If the Yankees go 16-12 the rest of the way they'll win 100 games.

Lol. Up 14-3.. may as well just quit the game and call a mercy rule or something.
And yeah, I saw how he bulldozed the dude over and stomped on the plate, but okay. Volstad hit him for that, there we go. Then he threw behind him because the dude stole some bases? Sounds like a case of umad, really.
Also, Volstad does hit like a girl.
Have any of you seen Cobb? Recommended viewing if you wanna see what kinda shit that man did to piss off everyone he played against, including fans.
Every time some unwritten rule argument comes up i just think back to that movie.

Thats an awful lot of love for a player who is completely mediocre in almost every way (dude does have an incredible arm).
He's a fan favorite even if he sucks. He's just a nice guy who plays hard but just can't hit. On top of that, trading francoeur doesn't all of a sudden mean garbage dudes like Fmart, who can't complete 70 games without a major injury, are going to be the answer. So the fans are just pissed the organization may heading in another direction.
Maybe someone can pull a reverse-Ankiel and turn him into a pitcher.
You know, with the arm strength that he's built up, he could probably be a very durable hard thrower. I'm not sure his personality would be conducive to pitching though, as he said multiple times when Jerry Benched him that he hated watching games.
I read the Ty Cobb biography. Really interesting read. What a horrible person, amazing ballplayer.
He used to get singles, obviously since it was the dead ball era, and he'd taunt the 2nd baseman that he was going to steal 2nd and go in spikes first and try to hurt them. He'd do it to 3rd baseman also, cursing and taunting them as loud as he could. Opposing fans would start getting on him and he'd start taunting them too and he loved it. Wonder what it was like having the greatest ball player ever at that time, be the most hated also.
Wow Ohemgee are you dense. The nats actually turned a shitty blowout (losing 14-3) and made it interesting losing 16-10. Lets just never try if the game is a blowout. I'm sure the Red's and Braves would have loved to have known about that un-written rule so they could bitch about how the Giants and Rockies came back against them.
Not sure if I'm getting trolled here, but

Ah shit. Apparently something happened to Santana as he's being pinch hit for. Fuck. That's not a good sign. He'd only thrown 60 something pitches.
This Phillies/Rockies game is gettin pretty crazy
2 game lead over the Phillies now assuming they win tonight. Gah.
Ridiculous comeback win for the Phillies. I'd like to say the offense has woken up, but that would just set me up for raging when *Oliver Perez level pitcher* no hits them into the 8th inning.
The only good news for the Mets is Mejia is gonna start on Saturday. If his curve really has developed like they say, he's gonna be fucking sick on the mound.
