Big win for the Twins last night coming off a 13 inning loss where we managed to pitch two starters in relief- one of which was supposed to start last night. It was probably the sloppiest game I've seen all season from both teams and the umpires. We called up a starter from AAA to make his MLB debut (on three days rest and one hour of sleep lol) and he did pretty damn well against the Rangers (5.2 innings, 2 ER). It almost seemed like a throwaway game, so getting a win was pretty awesome.
Gardy got tossed in the 7th in that 13 inning game. Do managers that get tossed still make pitching calls via phone or messenger somehow? I've never really known for sure. God I hope not though after that shitty bullpen management.
KK looked terrible last night as i predicted. I've never wished Lowe was starting instead more in my life.
You can have Vazquez back.
JJ vs. JJ tonight in Florida. I'm worried we'll be tied with Philly after tonight.
Also i never realized until it was just brought up in the game, but McCann has never hit more than 24 hr's in a season.
And holy shit Chipper Jones just got tossed ahaha.
Citizens Bank has turned into Wrigley Field tonight. There have been 5 HR's already and only 2 (arguably 1) would have gone out on a normal night.
Cincinnati, San Diego and NYY are the only teams to post winning records in each of the first five months of the season.
Umps have it out for Braves on the DL.
Chipper Jones was thrown out of Saturday’s game by home-plate umpire Doug Eddings in the first inning after saying something from the bench that the ump didn’t appreciate.
What’s unusual about this, of course, is that Jones is on the disabled list, recovering from knee surgery. The third baseman has been in uniform on the bench during games the past week.
Coincidentally, during a 2005 game at Florida, Eddings ejected three Braves including pitcher Mike Hampton, who was also on the DL. Eddings got into a heated argument with Braves catcher Johnny Estrada that night and tossed Estrada, Hampton and manager Bobby Cox.
Bitches need to get off the Braves' DL's nuts.
Same thing happened to Ross Gload while he was on the DL during Ryan Howard's blow up a little while back.
Thank you Torre for putting in Broxton
Stay classy Loria. The Marlins confirmed that they'll be the first team this season not to recognize Cox's impending retirement before he leaves town.
McLouth robbed of a grand slam, wow.
2 run sac fly instead and Atl scored 5 times to tie it.
We can thank him by beating the shit out of them next year with him at the helm, assuming everything goes off without a hitch.
Way to go Melky.
gg Melkman. Not to say it wouldn't have been over on that hit anyway, but still. Tough game to lose.
