I doubt Moyer gets to 300. He's a bad pitcher on a good team, so we're talking 10-12 wins a year? That's 4 years. That's a long time at his age. He'd have to average at least 14 wins a year to make it in 3 years. Which is possible if he stays on the Phillies.
Butttt
Would he even have a gig in the majors right now if he wasn't already under contract? One more year like last year and a team probably doesn't give him a roster spot. Maybe someone gives him a MILB deal with an offer to spring training to win a spot, but that would then likely be a bad team = lower win total (And if he dips under 10 wins on average, that's 5+ years needed).
Certainly would be cool to see though
Stat wise, he has been one of the better pitchers overall during spring training. How that relates to regular season though, we won't know for a bit.
Spring Training stats hardly ever matter. People who are like "Omg, so and so hit .500 during Spring Training!" are silly for actually caring since that's a time where pitchers generally explore their pitches, work on location, and all that jazz.
As far as Moyer.. I don't think he gets close to 300 wins. I don't even think he'll finish the year this year. Something will happen like an injury, or just him performing badly.
Have opening spots in a Fantasy Baseball League.
I'd join, but this would be better in the 2010 MLB thread.
Here's my only fantasy team so far:
C Matt Wieters
1B Derrek Lee
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Gordon Beckham
SS Hanley Ramirez
2B/SS Aaron Hill
1B/3B Jorge Cantu
OF Adam Lind
OF Jason Bay
OF Nick Markakis
OF Rajai Davis
OF Jason Heyward
UTIL Colby Rasmus
B Josh Willingham
SP CC Sabathia
SP Chris Carpenter
SP Jair Jurrjens
SP Brett Anderson
SP Max Scherzer
SP Brad Penny
RP Brain Wilson
RP Ryan Franklin
RP David Aardsma
RP Mike Gonzalez
RP Leo Nunez
My pitching seems weak, but this may be one of the strongest offenses I've ever had. I'm gonna have to start Kinsler on the DL, should I pick up Scuturo or McGehee?
Try out Scuturo. What'd you think of my team I posted? Also, needs more AIM action, pohibaba.
Beckham should pick up 2B eligibility fairly quickly, so you'll only have to be Scutaro'd for a couple weeks.
Just read this today in Keith Olbermann's MLB blog, as it was linked from the Nats blog in the Post. Link at the bottom, not that there is anything else worth reading, really. Although he does say he thinks the Mets will barely finish above the Nats.
He was writing about Denard Span hitting his mama, and he says he was reminded of these things:
Link- http://keitholbermann.mlblogs.com/ar...rediction.html1. August 17th, 1957. Richie Ashburn, who got to the Baseball Hall of Fame largely by virtue of his ability to keep fouling off pitches he didn't like, until he got one he did like, fouled one off into the stands at Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia. It struck - of all people - Alice Roth, the wife of the sports editor of the newspaper The Philadelphia Bulletin. They had to carry Mrs. Roth (and her broken nose) off on a stretcher. While they were so doing, Ashburn, who was still at bat and still fouling pitches off, hit Mrs. Roth with another foul ball.
2. Of course, on June 17th, 2000, Chuck Knoblauch of the New York Yankees picked up a ground ball and threw it wildly towards first base. It instead hit a fan sitting behind the dugout, breaking her eyeglasses. The fan, of course, was my mother.
3. And perhaps the unlikeliest of the events: After Span got hit, the Associated Press was reminded of the Bob Feller incident (reminded by Bob Feller, of course). On May 14, 1939, when the Hall of Fame flamethrower was still just 20 years old, he threw a pitch at Comiskey Park which some member of the White Sox fouled into the seats - striking Feller's mother. May 14, 1939 was, of course, Mother's Day.

From PredictionMachine.com... need to be a member to view, so no link. The guy is a renown sports forecaster and simulated the 2010 MLB season 50,000 times. Forgive my crappy text tables...
The Predictalator (lol) has played every 2010 MLB game 50,000 times before it's actually played. Based on that analysis, we present projected standings as well as the highest and lowest win totals for each team in the 50,000 seasons that were played. We also assess the likelihood that any team makes the playoffs (as a division or wild card winner) and then what teams do when they get there.
Please note that all percentages are rounded to the tenth of a percent. A team listed as having a 0.0% chance of something still can do it. To round to 0.1%, a team must achieve the goal 255 times in the 50,000 seasons played.

Aaron Boone predicts the Reds to win the Central in his first year as analyst.
ESPN announces this will be Aaron Boone's last year as an analyst at ESPN
I just realized that the last game i actually went to was the night John Rocker made his return to Shea after those comments he made. Happy to still be alive.
Anyways, haven't been this excited about a Braves team since. I know we have a lot riding on older players, especially in the bullpen, but i think we have a lot of young guys that can step in.
I'm debating if I should buy the mlb.tv package, but it's $100![]()
