Do you think the Twins would rather play the Rays or the Yankees in the first round?

They should want the Rays. In a five game series, the Twins should be able to no-hit them at least once.

What's pretty fucking amazing with the Phils is this: They could have 3 starting pitchers under 3.00 ERA for the season if they keep up pitching the way they have been. This team was never a pitching team, and yet that's what they are right now and it's amazing.

Jurrjens has an 8 pitch first inning and promptly yacked on himself afterward.

I don't really know, I haven't really thought about it.

Who do you think will be your rotation guys after C.C.? I'd assume the Rays use Price/Garza/Shields. We'll likely go with Liriano/Pavano/Duensing. It'd be great if Pavano could pitch well against the Yankees in the playoffs.

I just noticed that the Yankees and Rays play seven more times, so I guess that race really is up in the air.

First off.. I think the Twins would rather see the Rays over the Yankees. They just can't beat the Yankees in NY, lol

As far as the Rays.. I'd be scared as shit to put Shields out there. He's been TERRIBLE. I mean seriously. He's been absolutely dreadful. I could see them going Price/Garza/Hellickson(sp)? though they'll probably go Shields for post-season experience (granted it's small, lol)

Also, I'm guessing the Yankees will go CC/Pettite/Burnett?

For some reason I though they shut Hellickson down for the season, but I guess he's back up. He's in the pen now though. I doubt he'll be a postseason starter. They probably have to pick from Shields, Wade Davis, or Jeff Niemann for the third slot.

I'd guess Pettite will be in the rotation if healthy. He's supposed to be back in the rotation soon, so that will be likely.

If James Shields isn't a starter in the postseason does he still get to keep the nickname Big Game James? Let's just ignore how ludicrous that name is to begin with.

It'll probably be CC/Pettitte/Hughes/AJ or AJ/Hughes depending on how each is pitching going into October. And you know, Pavano did pitch pretty well in the dome in last year's ALDS, he just left a pitch up to the juggernaut that was Alex Rodriguez.

Another typical Met season. Santana done for the year and having surgery on his left shoulder according to ESPN. And to make it even better he might not be ready for opening day.

Not that they were going anywhere this year but fuck me. It was looking at least promising early in the year. I mean The guys on this team just cannot give you a full year anymore.

Really hoping Niemann gets his shit back together, hes a decent #3. Would rather see Hellickson at #3, but don't think that is what Maddon will do. Shields...eh, think I'd rather see Wade Davis start lol.

Volquez 7 strong..walks one, allows one hit, strikes out 10...then Masset comes in the next inning, and gives up 4 ERs and the lead.
