Volquez the bigger story tonight. Pretty sure the 3 man playoff rotation will be Rock Star, Cueto, and Bailey however.
inb4- GET OUT
We only need one reds fan, take your leave.
Rofl Riviera hit a batter with bases loaded in bottom of the 9th. Walk Off Walk!
I love Jim Thome.
It will be a wild one if both teams are healthy by then.
My prediction for today's Rays/Jays game:
Day game + Niemann pitching = FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU
Rangers used 11 pitches in one game, you won't see that either. Rangers best hitters and the AL MVP is not playing either. The Yankees in this series are pitching Vazquez, Burnett, and Moseley. If you think that's the 3 pitchers they'll face in the playoffs.... eesh.
In other news, Cliff Lee + Neftali Feliz dominated the Yankees today, only 2 hits. Rangers Sweep.
Man, Soriano with the blown save/loss...woulda given us the division lead, gdi. Neimann did better at least, 5 innings isn't really getting it done though. Suppose its not a huge deal, Rangers or Minnesota...guess I'd rather have Rangers, but thats iffy at best. Still, nice to win the division, fuck that wild card noise.
The fact the Yankees pitched their 3 worst pitchers, two who won't even be on the postseason roster, means they'd be better in the playoffs. The Rangers not being able to use 11 pitchers and gain a favorable matchup against every hitter means they won't be as good in the postseason. Hence, my point.
Yes, Hamilton didn't play. That's a big hole. So is Posada missing the first two games, and A-rod/Swisher missing the last one. Grats on sweeping, the Rangers deserved to win every game. That said, the Yankees played like absolute garbage and were in a position to win the first two games. They didn't, shit happens. Anyone who thinks that was a true "playoff preview" is delusional.
Anyone who thinks a 3 game series between potential playoff teams who may face each other .. is a big deal is just silly. Especially when both teams have their divisions/playoff spots locked up. They just need to take it easy and coast through the rest of the year.
And yeah, Ceph's point about the pitching (lack there of) from the particular 3 starters out there who probably won't even start.. sorda important there.
Also, IMO, Hughes will probably be shut down by the end of the year and moved to the bullpen for the playoffs. He's starting to feel the inning pileup.
I'm going to the game tonight! Will be in left field seats with my Rays shirt on LOOK FOR ME ZOMG. lol
