Awesome job by Dan Wheeler costing the Rays the game last night. -.-

awwww won't embed. In any case enjoy
The White Sox had the bases loaded with no outs in the 6th. A.J. grounded into a double play that scored one. That's all they got.
In the seventh, they loaded the bases again with one out with Konerko and their big money acquisition Manny Ramirez as the next two batters. Jesse Crain struck them both out. Ouch.
It wasn't long ago when the Sox loaded the bases twice with one or no outs and failed to do anything meaningful versus the Twins in another game.
In the eighth, the Twins scored twice before loading the bases. Denard Span doubled and all three runners scored. Easy 9-3 win.
11-5 record against the Sox now. 7 games up.
The Twins have a realistic shot of finishing with the best record in baseball since they'll be playing Cleveland and KC while the Yankees Rays and Red Sox are all beating up on each other. If you told me that a few months ago I would have called you crazy.
Yeah, we're 1.5 back now?
We've also lost our last 9 playoff games. The Twins do have the best home record in the AL now, just above the Yankees, I believe. I also believe that this is the best team we've had since at least 2006, but likely even beyond that. Maybe we'll do something this year.-
I'm still going to call for a do-over of game 2 of the ALDS last year, because of one of the worst calls I've ever seen.
Yeah, that was beyond terrible. Only a matter of time before a blown call directly costs someone a game in the playoffs, and that'll be the last straw. In fact I heard they're already considering extended replay for the playoffs this year or next.
(the Twins did load the bases with nobody out in that inning and couldn't score though, so nyah)
You know as well as I do that the situation is vastly different with a runner on second base with no outs compared to one at first base. That half inning would have played out much differently if Mauer was rightfully on second.
Honestly though, I'm not really butthurt about it. The Twins could have and should have scored regardless of Phil Cuzzi. I do like to bring it up when the chance presents itself though.
That play is still on Youtube. It's remarkable, since MLB seems extremely quick to take down replays.

Soooo, Krod violated the restraining order against his ex-girlfriend and now has to face criminal contempt charges on top of everything else. For fucks sake man, is this garbage ever going to end lol. Also now a lot of talk about the Mets taking offers on nearly everyone on the team, some even in favor of a rebuild which seems a bit ridiculous.
Holy shit...

I didn't realize it was that one-sided.
Are you an idiot? Lol.. Hamels, Halladay, and Oswalt are all solid NUMBER ONE starters, while Lowe is at best a 4, Hanson's a high #3/low #2 possibly (with #1 stuff), and Hudson's a #1. Of course it'd be that lopsided.
HERPDERP WE HAVE PITCHING TO BRAG ABOUT NOW. Getting sick of the Phillies for that one reason. (No offense, Skirks. Not meant at you, but you're like.. the sixth person in a few days to bring that fact up)
Delicious Braves collapsing as we near the end of the season just like they did last year. Ah well, fun ride while it lasted.
Yeah I just saw the score. It's not like the Nationals beat you guys up though, considering they won because of a single grand slam. Plus since the Braves played first, that means the Phillies are going to lose tonight to keep the lead as thin as possible.
Nah.. the Marlins are terrible now (granted they'll still beat the Braves), but these are games the Braves should be winning. Look at Lannan's ERA and what not.. dude's been dreadful all year. It's these games, like the Cardinals have been doing, that they give away and lose chances on gaining ground. Fact that the Nats own the Braves is sickening.
But yeah, inc 3 game lead for the Phitin' Phils.
Nats and Fish always like to play spoiler for the rest of the East, don't count them out to shake things up for Atlanta and Philly just yet.
Braves had a tough run as of late though for sure. Losing a series to the Mets.. losing a HOME series to the Nats.. just ugh. Just win a couple of those games and we'd probably be tied at the top instead of 2.5 games back. Now we gotta see the 3 #1 starter horse that is the two Roys and Hamels on the road.. Mets on the road.. could be the end of the division coming up on this road trip.
BEST HOME RECORD IN BASEBALL
Used to be anyway. They've been struggling hardcore. If they can't win at home, they're fucked lol
Since the Phillies have Halladay pitching tonight and the Marlins plan to trot out spare parts, yeah, the Phillies will probably score no runs and lose 2-0 or something like that.
And we're not used to having any depth of rotation whatsoever, give us a break, lol. Wasn't that long ago Jon Lieber was our ace and we had high hopes in getting Freddy Garcia and Adam Eaton.
Yeah, I know.. but you guys have been winning for a while, act like ya have before!
Just kidding. :/ I knew the Phillies were good and would work their way through their problems at the beginning of the year, so eh.
