Ok you are super fucking retarded. He's dreaming cause he's no longer on a shit team and actually on a good team. I know you live in philidelphia and all but I'd hope you were more intelligent than this and that I wouldn't have to spell it out for you even though other people got what I was saying.

Cause cincy's pitching ability is completely dependent on cincy's offensive ability.

I already said I misread it, but calling out his stupidity in clarifying what I read and what it implies.

In any case - Phils in 5 games.

My question is, you know Cliff Lee is almost a sure lock to win game 3, do you throw Burnett in that game, or give Hughes the chance to try to out duel Lee. Burnett being wild and inconsistent all year, do you give him the chance in game 4 to try and bring his A game to the tables and him not doing so and potentially costing the Yankees 2 games instead of just one if he went up against Lee.

    1) There's no such thing as a sure lock, especially in Yankee Stadium.

    2) They won a game he started this year already and he wasn't sharp in game 5 of the world series either.

    3) If you pitch AJ in game 3 it means he's going to have to pitch game 7 unless you're rolling one of the other guys on major short rest. No thanks.

Cliff Lee had back problems after being traded/during that Yankees game. Just sayin'.

I never buy into 'vs other team' stats when it's for the regular season.
Just to expand upon this a bit, the Dodgers owned us pretty hard in the 2008 and 2009 regular seasons, and we all know how that worked out for them in the playoffs.

A lot of people make argument for "This pitcher versus that team" come playoff team, but we all know playoff games and regular season games are both played differently and managed differently. That and if a team's hot during the regular season anyway, it's a good time for pitchers to work on different pitches and what not.. so yeah. Phillies 4-1. I wasn't impressed by the Giants at all. The Yankees, Rays, Rangers, or Phillies would have swept the Braves with the line-up they put out there.

I have a feeling that the rotation will look like:

    Lincecum
    Sanchez
    Cain
    Bumgarner

for this series. Sanchez has really stepped up to the plate and has some very good numbers against the Phillies on the road, thanks mainly due to the fact that he's a strikeout pitcher which helps a lot in that bandbox of a stadium. I would be very surprised if this series didn't go at least 6 games. If the Giants can steal one of the first two on the road, I would be very worried as a Phil's fan.

Lincecum/Sanchez/Cain announced with Game 4 based on how the series is going most likely Bumbarner according to ESPN. Anyways things can change series to series. Last time the Giants played the Braves in the NLDS we looked like shit as we barely squeeked by in 5 games, people were expecting St.Louis to murder us and we kicked them out in 5 games. Phillies offense looked like shit vs Cincinnati, Giants offense looked like shit vs Braves. Both teams have somewhat streaky offense, can be a hell of a series.

Rangers rotation is out, nothing surprising:

    Wilson
    Lewis
    Lee
    Hunter

Which would line up Wilson for game 5 and Lee for game 7.

I'm kinda surprised the Yanks flipflopped Hughes and Pettitte, I understand wanting Pettitte in a big game 3 and 7, but he's been lit up by the Rangers in the past. Their big righty bats against him is troubling.

On the flip side I was surprised to learn that Lewis has been pitching to a worse FIP than Burnett. No one seems to be freaking out about him!

Not to change the subject, but since i have nothing else to look forward to this year, Jurrjens is on the market.

I know he's been hurt all year but he's only 24. Braves obviously looking for a bat but they only had 8mil come off the books with Wagner retiring.

The problem is we're stuck with Lowe's and KK's huge contracts and of course Chipper coming back also. We need an owner like Turner back or it's going to back a rough next couple of years.

The only bright side is, we're stocked with pitching in the minors.

Back in 1996, my dad surprised me with tickets to the first ever Rangers home playoff game. This year, I got to turn the tables on him and surprise him with tickets to the first ever Rangers ALCS game. We'll be in roughly the same nosebleed section as 1996 too. So fucking excited!

Finally, baseball will be played again, these past few days have been killing me. If I have to read another ludicrous nothing-else-to-talk-about story on another blog or sports website I'm gonna scream (the one arguing that Joe Blanton should start game 1 was a doozy).
