YOU KNOW WHY THE YANKEES ARE LOSING???
WE NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED KATE HUDSON NOW!
No one ever wake me from this dream.
Is that a teenage mutant ninja turtle?
Girardi has been over-managing his chalupa eating also. There was a guy who was about to house a 3rd chalupa but stopped to burp so he was taken out for Chan Ho Park.
To be fair to Girardi, the Yankees have just not hit. You can press all the usual buttons all you want but....
Hey, I've heard that line before ...
Rangers have been pretty effective this post-season shutting down both the Rays and the Yankees. Now granted, the Yankees are a much better hitting team than the Rays, but both teams have really slumped in this post-season and struggled against a team that is playing like they really want to win.
Now a Yankees/Rays series ... that would have been more interesting to watch. And I'm not saying that because I wanted my Rays to win (obviously I did) but because I know that Rays/Yankees games are always good, and they're two very evenly matched teams. It would have been a great series. This one - not so much.
So Rangers/Phillies, I'd guess? That's going to be a hell of a series.
I'm the only guy I know who would rather have faced the Rays instead of the Rangers, so much for that, lotta revisionist history from my buddies now![]()
I'm looking forward to today's game. I think the Phillies still have it in them to win the series; this was just yet another example of not giving Cole Halmel any run support.
If your friends are anything like mine then I imagine the conversation goes a little like this:
"Dude, don't you remember back in like March I was telling you the Rangers would get up 3-1 in the ALCS, but the Yanks would come back?! It's true so far, right? You just forgot I said it, guydudebro."
Two days later:
"I'm not disappointed. I mean, who would expect them to come back from being down 3-1, right?"
It's gotten worse since I've really started to get into and understand sabrmetrics and simliar ways of looking at the game. I've had people call Posada the worst catcher ever and say Cervelli should start all the time because he has fire and energy and stuff! The Yankees arent clutch, they don't have a good offense because they don't have the 15 walkoff wins! DAMON AND MELKY AND MATSUI!!!
Don't look at Ron. He has only tried it once!
Edit: Grats to the Rangers for an awesome post-season run so far. I really lost a lot of confidence in them after they choked in Game 1 but at the same time, it might have humbled them and kept them focus. Letting them know that nothing is guaranteed and you have to play until the final out. Hope they take care of business today. Would suck to let the Yankees hang around, giving them hope and have doubt creep into the Rangers' minds.
As a Yankee fan, this series had made me want to throw stuff. I will say though, it's not impossible for CC to pitch a gem and for the Yanks to get to Lewis on Friday.
How much fun would a Lee/Pettitte Game 7 be? It might, uh, actually outdraw football, maybe >_>
Just got back from my parents house in Virginia last night, and they don't have internet for some god forsaken reason, so not being able to read anything online about the games the last few days has been killing me.
The Yankees should have been swept, though I could see them pushing it to 7 games, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Josh Hamilton has been a beast and Cliff Lee doing what he does best. I wish we could have kept him but no use crying over spilled milk so I won't.
I figured the only way the Giants had a chance at beating us is if our bats went cold and someone on their team got hot, and both have happened so far. Everything they got a hold of in Game 1 fell for a hit, and we squandered several good scoring opportunities early on which cost us. Game 2 we finally managed to get a big hit, and I didn't see Game 3 because I was on the road.
Hopefully the bats will wake up a bit and we'll finally start hitting with RISP, otherwise we're done. I still think we'll pull it out but it will probably go the distance.
The Phillies barely bothered to show up yesterday. It was a hard thing to watch. I thought Hamels pitched well enough to win, but the offense completely shit the bed and nobody stepped up. Down, but not out, but not feeling too good about it either.
I absolutely cannot focus on work right now. Come on CJ, let's that win you should've had in game 1!
