Holy shit @ Kevin Blackistone as Ron Washington on Around The Horn.
Someone find a pic or vid of this and post it.

Wah wah payroll wah, at least you have the ESPN script down pat
I'm sure you wish your team was run the same way, that line of thinking really doesn't bother anyone I knowAnd I don't want to run down the list of Yankee homegrown players but I WILL IF YOU MAKE ME
also anyone who follows baseball knows that you can't predict it, and in a small sample size anything can happen. Like, say, the rofltastic Giants offense putting up 7 runs against Cliff Lee.
I think it makes a team a sellout when their payroll is even 75% of the yankees - I really do. I know it's part of the game now but it diminishes it a lot when it can turn out to be a battle of the owners' wallets. At least the lakers are hated for winning; the yankees are hated for buying wins
I don't think anyones annoyed that the Yanks spend a lot, hell any fan would want that.
It's that they have an advantage on how they get that money.
Watching the World Series marathon on Classic makes me want to see teams like KC or Pit make it to the series.
Part of the blame can be put on those owners for not spending what they should, sure, but it's a huge problem overall when not every team has an equal chance in Spring.
Too many teams, too watered down, too much top talent on too few teams.
With the way baseball is structured I just don't see how that's true. Hell, you're watching a World Series right now whose teams have a combined payroll less than the Yankees, one of which that has never been to a Series the other who hasn't won one since the 50s. Do the Yankees have an advantage? Sure, they revolutionized the sport when they split from MSG and decided to create and own their own sports network. Baseball has done a lot to make them pay the price via luxury tax and revenue sharing, but it really isn't the Yankees fault if other teams don't reinvest that money into their teams. If you want someone to blame, look at the players union for making a salary cap impossible or other teams for not investing their money in a winning product.
The Yankees make money by winning and win because they make money. Their payroll guarantees them the playoffs but nothing else, so the sport doesn't really suffer by having them crowned champions every year like you seem to suggest.
Larry Parrish named new Braves hitting coach
TP being moved to 1b coach. Hmmm i think i like this.
I don't know anything about sports. Maybe I should just not reply to this.
Wow, could you be any more obviously post-count spamming? -.-
I'm still bitter about the '96 World Series, and this one reminds me so much of that one.
Atl won game 1 against the Yanks 12-1 and Maddux shut them out 4-0 in game 2.
We went on to lose the next 4 =/
Man Colby is looking damn good again tonight. Just one mistake and that's it.
I wonder where he ranks on phobia's scale...would he be their long reliever?
Colby Lewis has put up more quality starts in the postseason than tony romo!
When will the world get to see Feliz? Did Washington forget to put him on the roster?
