Words can`t express the joy I feel.
Wow. I was just reading my predictions from February. I thought I had the Twins beating the Giants in the Series. But I guess I was wrong. My pick was the Giants beating the Twins 4-2. Hell this whole post season I just been happy I picked the Giants to make the series. So guess I might have been the only person to pick the Giants to honestly win the Series before the season began and I forgot all about it.
I just heard that Giants fans just overturned an eighteen-wheeler. With somebody in it. I thought only Phillies fans were so crude as to riot when they won?
I'm making light to a lot of the bad press Phillies fans got, and still get, after the 2008 world series.
Well I'm not much of a baseball fan but since I'm from SF I just thought I'd say congrats to the city and the fans who've been waiting so long. Maybe this will spark some of the other SF sports(lol).
Out-pitched, out-hit, and out-managed. Giants beat us in every which way they could in this series. The best team won this series without a doubt, congrats to Giants fans for ending quite the title drought. Well done.
Rangers have given me a ride that I could only have dreamed of. When we were told we'd compete in 2010 and even when this year's motto was "it's time", we all figured that meant we'd be competitive in the ALDS and maybe even win it. Never could have imagined winning the pennant. Hurts like hell to lose in the World Series, but I wouldn't have traded this ride for anything.
Seriously, a bankrupt team that was sold in the middle of the season won a fucking pennant. Hollywood doesn't even write that script.
I just hope I get to do this again next year.
I just went back to page 1 of this thread. Didnt realize ceph put the giants and rangers as world series dark horses.
Well really, the Giants are really deep pitching wise so, I mean it's not really a stretch. The Rangers got pitching out of unlikely guys and they had the offense to just breeze out in the AL west. But that team was not built for success in a short series. I mean once their 1-2s got out pitched it was pretty evident where the series was going to go when the Giants were getting the kind of production, especially at the bottom of their lineup.
I really hope this ends the ire in Philadelphia about trading Cliff Lee. He lost two games in the world series and the Phillies had excellent pitching. Now if we could only stop the "trade Utley" epidemic.
To be honest, that perspective started after game two. After game four, even though I was hopeful for us pulling out a series win in 7, the writing was on the wall.
So yeah...I've had time to cope lol. Now had we been up 2-0 and then promptly fuck it up in six, I might be singing a different tune.
Winning the pennant alone is a huge achievement, given the work needed to even get that far. I know the Yankees have the 'win it all or bust' mentality but I am always proud when they capture the pennant. It's an American custom to often celebrate only the ultimate winner and ignore the success of the second best team.
Hmm is possible Renteria can make the hall of fame one day? his numbers aren't so bad and well winning world series have to help somehow right?, probably not but i can pray for that xD.
Just read this article i don't know what to think:

I'm more happy for Bochy than any of the players.
He ran into the '98 Yanks in his first bid at coaching a champion.
Congrats to the Giants for the World Series win. You guys played lights out pretty much the entire post season, and I gotta give Timmy a ton of props for going 3-1 against Halladay and Lee, thats very impressive.
