    Srsly.

I'm waiting to read somewhere of someone saying "It's just the Marlins", because that's going to be a recurring theme with alot of teams if the offense puts up these kinds of runs again and again. To boot, Sanchez had pretty good numbers against the Phillies coming into the game, didn't he come close to a no-no last year against Moyer during one of the games towards the end of the year?

Howard's new approach/whatever you want to call it is making him so much better. 5(6?) strikeouts in 10 games? Consistently hitting the ball to left? He's going to go on a rampage once the balls start flying out of the ballpark.

Castro has been really clutch these last few games he's filling in, that flip to Utley was pretty awesome and he's knocking runs in.

People who say 'oh it's just the whatevers' are insane and clearly don't watch baseball. D: The Phillies are fucking good. Braves have one shot to win the division and that's if the Phillies end up losing Halladay and a big bat. And I'd never wish injury upon someone, so gogo Wild Card prz.

Also, it's not like the Marlins were a bad team last year. They were in Wild Card contention lol. No one ever gives them a shot at the beginning of the season.

Well the Marlins have big bullpen issues as always and that's usually what keeps them out. The mets go an absolutely stellar start against Carpenter by Ollie, best start he's had in 2 years and jerry manuel decides to pull him and the bullpen proceeds to give up a walk and a grandslam to fucking felipe lopez lol. Oh well I'm very happy with what Perez did. Good sign now we just need to fucking win games.

If Howard can keep hitting opposite field like he's been doing this year it could pull teams off the Howard/Giambi shift and could really bring up his numbers as well as the Phillies numbers.

    Also... Dear Chase,

I feel like I can call you Chase because you and me are so much alike. I would love to meet you someday, it would be great to have a catch. I know I can’t throw as fast as you, but I think you would be impressed with my speed. I love your hair. You run fast. Did you have a good relationship with your father? Me neither. These are all things we can talk about, and more. I know you have not been getting my letters because I know you would write back if you did. And I hope you write back this time and we get to be good friends. I am sure our relationship would be a real home run.

And needless to say, Halladay is fucking sick. 22+ wins inc. Like I said earlier, even the YES announcers are callin a 25 win season for him.

Anyone that quotes Always Sunny is ok in my book!

Even i, a Braves fan, loves Chase. I like that he seemed to be the only one pissed off that they lost last year. Love players that want it more even after they already won it.

Yeah. Chase Utley is pretty awesome. Makes me happy for drafting him when I did. Shit's awesome.

I dunno if Howard is gonna keep up the oppo-field stuff as pitchers will probably adjust, but eh. Is he still getting a healthy dose of breaking balls?

One of my best friends is a huge Yankees fan...and while we hate eachothers teams throughout the season (mainly because we're about the same distance between Philly and NYC, so there's a lot of both teams fans in the area) we can both agree that you cannot hate Derek Jeter or Chase Utley because they are 2 of the few actual ballplayers left in the game.

Jeter because he's one of the best players to ever play the game and honestly an inspiration to the team, and Utley because he's one of the few people who plays the game like it really should be played. Not to say that you shouldn't have fun with the game, but I can honestly say I can count the times Utley has smiled during the game on one hand, no matter what the score.

also, roy pwned the AL east for a decade. easy cy young in the NL east for him this year. i wouldn't be surprised at all if he ended the season with a sub 2.00 era. thank god he's out of the AL. hope the yanks don't see him in the WS.

A friend of mine went to the game last night and had Diamond Club seats, after Utley's HR I asked her to try and kiss him for me.

If there's any man I would go gay for, it's Chase. Biggest non-sexual crush I've ever had.

If you don't hate Derek Jeter, you're either a closet Yankees fan or a closet homosexual with a fetish for guys with big heads and stupid haircuts.

So far, yeah, but he's working the count and showing patience like an entirely different person. He got another RBI single last night after hitting a ball to where the SS would have been after falling behind 0-2 and bringing the count back. He's been impressive.

Though Chase Utley and Placido Polanco are stealing the show so far. Chase Utley has it a home run in four straight games for the third time in his career.

I'm not a Yankees fan by any stretch, but I still like to watch Jeter play. The same goes for Rivera.

Players like that seem impossible for me to hate.

Agreed...like I said you gotta respect their talent. Especially in the sense that Rivera only has like 1 pitch and nobody can seem to hit it.

Jimmy was showing more plate discipline before he went on the DL, too. There's something about Halladay that's making the entire team better, and I love it.

You can't seriously be implying that Rollins and Howard are playing well because of Halladay.

Halladay is secretly a hitting coach as well.

Well maybe not directly but if you check out some interviews with some of his former team mates in Toronto, they all respect the man for being the first one in the club house and weight room in the morning and last one to leave. I'm sure some of that has rubbed off.

Ok but saying he is the reason Rollins, Utley, and Polanco are raking and Howard's approach is much improved is a ridiculous stretch and kind of a slight to those players.
