I think most phils fans were fine seeing anyone but lidge close games. Doesn't mean Madson was good at it lol

Was a change-up I do believe.
Madson's saves were an adventure last year too.
As someone said, it was the anyone-but-Lidge movement. And I was a part of that. But once Madson proved he was shitty in the 9th, I don't know why they would go back to him. I'd actually rather see Romero close when he gets back if Lidge proves he still sucks.
EDIT: And yeah it was a change-up.
If it wasn't right down the middle then it caught way too much of the plate. Terrible pitch either way.
White Sox beatwriter for the Sun Times, Joe Cowley, gets blasted by Fan590 (Toronto Sports Radio) hosts, for believing that Baseball is failing in Canada

Check it out, it's a good listen
Once again, stay classy Toronto
The pitch to Glaus was worse, as was the pitch to McLouth by Contreras.
What is not mentioned, however, is that when the Jays are mid way through the paper, it's because the first half is all hockey. Won't deny that we're hockey-crazy, but we be loving our baseball too~ Once the NHL playoffs are done, Jays will be the first page more often than not.
Haha. Well it is true. While the Blue Jays have been there for ages and what not.. Toronto and Canada as a whole don't really care as much about baseball as they do hockey, as you obviously know.
Still pretty funny that people give a shit about that as it is. About whether Toronto cares about baseball that is.
I've never been a fan of Madson closing. He just doesn't have it. He's great in the set up role, but he shits the bed when it's all on him way too often. Even crazy ass Brad Lidge is more reliable.
fuck our offense. Pitching gives up only 1 hit, we lose 1-0.
I am a die-hard yankees fan and actually like the red sox team, minus that fucker papelbon, who if we sign to replace mo, i will boo him myself. Sox fans suck too.
that said, the sox need to make some moves. its obviously way too early to jump the gun, and when reality comes back together and their actual hitters (youk, pedroia, a healthy elsbury, martinez, tho hes been playing ok) start, well hitting, and the likes of scutaro and beltre come back down to earth (beltre could have a rebound year tho). I'd bet Dice-K is done being a real threat, yet their pitching is nice. Bard is a beast, love him.
Let me ask you: will they trade/cut Ortiz before the deadline? My dad if they do they pay him 10mil, if they keep him they pay like 21mil or something? If that were the case, cut your losses. He was awesome then, but hes not juicing anymore and hes a bum now. They need to make a run at Gonzalez.
I'd cut Ortiz in a heartbeat.
What, getting cut being his fault? Yeah, I was about to say.. his fault that he did get cut? Psh, he's sucked dick for most of two years. He misses his PEDs.
I mean spin it in some sort of him having an attitude problem, being an issue in the club house, his slump being the result of his lack of trying, blah blah blah. I don't know what more they want, players with his build have always had precipitous drop offs at the end of the career, like in a single season. Whether every time that has correlated with ceasing to use roids or just them being fat and getting older, who knows.
