Achilles Tendon is serious stuff, surprised with 4 month estimate honestly...generally it keeps player away for at least 6 month.

Especially when you consider his age...

It's closer to 6 months and he'll for sure miss the world cup, and it's possible, at his age and with this type of injury, that he never plays elite club level football again. Hard to say with Becks since he has such a high determination, but he's really up against it now.

Inside rumor is that Capello was going to pick him for the final 23. He'll probably be invited by the FA to attend training with the team during the world cup.

Sucks for him personally since it was such a big goal of his, but in reality, this doesn't hurt England all that much as a team. It opens up a spot for Walcott or Wright-Phillips now.

Just finished watching the CFC match... what a disappointment. The sad thing is too Inter missed a ton of opportunities as well and could have easily won by multiple goals. Watching the CL will feel weird this year seeing how well the blues have done recently. If only Guus would have stayed =( I said right away when we got Ancelotti that he was mediocre at best and he's proven it over the past month losing to Inter twice and getting embarassed at home vs. Man City

In regards to the Beckham situation, I feel really bad for the guy, but it was going to happen eventually. He has been playing nonstop pretty much over the last two years between LA and Milan. For England the obvious players on the right are Lennon and Walcott. SWP and Cole are more traditional coaches, but neither is getting much time on their clubs (and there's even rumors Cole may quit CFC). I honestly am a big fan of James Milner and could see him on the right with Gerrard on the left and Barry/Lampard in the middle and Rooney+Heskey/Defoe upfront

Ancelotti was completely out-classed by Mourinho. I read that Mourinho watched the first leg through 7 times, in the days preceding the second-leg. He really wanted it. His formation was perfect. Chelsea had what they normally have, the break-out chances, but the defence from Inter was absolutely outstanding. That's not to say they aren't all winging cunts, but they played so well. Ancelotti can still prove his worth in the League. The problem is that he'll always be compared with Mourinho (who is a class above as a tactician, in my mind) and with Guus, who came into a situation with absolutely no pressure and exceeded all expectations...

I think you'll see Ancelotti at the bridge for at least another season, and there will probably be big spending in the summer, as well as quite a few of the current squad axed. Joe Cole leaving on a free is probably for the best, but goddamn I can't help but think of what he's offered since he's been around. Ballack, Deco and Belletti will all be gone. And possibly Carvalho and Ferreira.

Let's hope the rumours of Hamsik are true, he'd be a great holding midfielder. I've also like Angel di Maria (who is a class winger) but not for £36m. We'll see where Ribery ends up at the end of the day, as well...

Ancelotti chose to start Hilario over Turnbull vs City, which I didn't understand. I just think Hilario is garbage honestly and at least Turnbull has some promise.

I honestly don't think we will be THAT busy in the transfer window. This isn't 2005 anymore and we have a few solid young players who I'd like to see get an opportunity at more than just garbage time (Matic, Kakuta, Manicenne etc). I will agree though that we've kept some players far past their time here and you'll see some veterans be shown the door for sure... I've stood up for Ballack far longer than other people, but he has just been a disaster as of late and shouldn't be in the starting XI.

I did indeed. Get stuck with ESPN360, but at least it is something. Wish that Comcast would hurry the fck up with FSC HD... The team is coming together nicely. Well, I guess that isn't really the right way to put it as they don't have near as many new pieces as Real does.

Ibra is fitting in very nicely i think and Henry is showing damn nice form lately. I am a huge Bojan fan as well, and seeing him come in and score off his first touch was nice (with a hell of a pass from Ibra it must be said).

I just love seeing the comparisons between Ronaldo and Messi... they are such different players. Yes they have AMAZING natural talent, both of them, but you look at Messi overall... chasing down the ball, chasing players WITH the ball in general, his professionalism and his tendency to be much less selfish that Ronaldo. I have to say sometimes i really don't see a contest there.
