That was an amazing performance. On another note, poor Ibra, that guy is having a rough go lol. At least he's still creating for others, still making runs etc.

He still has 16 goals in 31 competitions >.>

Zlatan is at his best when not all the pressure is on him to score. I'm a huge Sweden fan so I know all too well how he almost always folds like a lawnchair when people expect him to be "the guy". He even did it at inter too. At Barca he has Messi to take all the spotlight which is why he is doing well there. It's just like in the 04 Euros when Henrik Larsson was still decent and could take away the spotlight.

    Speaking of which...

And here's a bonus Zlatan goal...

Well, the fact that he's replacing Eto is going to bring about some pressure to compete with what he did at Barca, but overall there isn't much pressure on him to score. Over the past few weeks he hadn't scored that much, and the media has been on him about it a bit. The match on Sunday he missed some sure opportunities, and I think that was a result of the media getting to him. Messi showed a lot of class giving him the penalty, and Ibra drove it home. Hopefully that will spur him to get back to the goal scoring he was doing before this slump.

I definitely wasn't on his back because when you watch the matches he isn't pouting about not scoring, he's making runs off the ball, creating passing opportunities, and opening the middle for Pedro, Messi and Henry to do their thing.

Messi has always been fantastic. I'm really looking forward to what he can accomplish at the World Cup.

If he want's to overtake Maradona as perhaps the best player of all-time, he needs to excel at the World Cup.

People needs to stop with the Messi becoming the best player of all time, in Spain some newspapers, La Porta, his teammate Pedro and few others have been saying that in last few days, Messi is only 22 and there is no way he can be compared with players like Pelé, Maradona, Di Stefano, etc, maybe in 7-8 years that debate can be made but not right now or in the next few years.

That being said Messi is playing awesome, i'd like to see him doing great with Argentina, but Argentina is a dissaster atm, he needs more people that can help him on his national team if they expect to do something in South Africa.

Argentina has some solid players, I think the management of the team is what is holding them back, from the coach up.

They also need to get a stud goalkeeper - I don't even know who their keeper is anymore... for some reason Maradona won't go with Ustari, sure he's young but he's better than anything else they have

I think Sergio Romero will be starter for Argentina almost for sure as goalkeeper, and yea Argentina has some good players but Maradona needs to decide what are his base players, he has tested over "100" players...

I am hoping Tevez is in there, I want to see him play. I still miss him in Man U. I am happy for him though, he is doing a damn fine job at Man City. Last I saw he was 5th in goal ranking. He almost has more goals this year than he did in 2 years at Man U. But then, he is getting games now.

Then there is Higuain who I feel has been more consistant than Ronaldo and Kaka for Real. I like seeing Messi and Tevez up front, though having all three of them in good shape can only help.

World Cup in less than three months... getting really stoked... here's my picks from each group to advance:

    Group A
    South Africa
Mexico (toss up between Mexico / Uruguay)
    Uruguay
    France

    Group B
    Argentina
Nigeria (I think this group is pretty weak honestly)
    South Korea
    Greece

    Group C
    England
United States (Slovenia could sneak in instead if the US sucks)
    Algeria
    Slovenia

    Group D
    Germany
    Australia
Serbia (Ghana is probably the better side but I like Serbia's toughguy style)
    Ghana

    Group E
    Netherlands
    Denmark
    Japan
Cameroon (f denmark hate those guys)

    Group F
    Italy
Paraguay (Slovakia could steal the 2nd spot, well-organized and coached side)
    New Zealand
    Slovakia

    Group G
    Brazil
    North Korea
Ivory Coast (I hate Portugal so much and with Drogba in beast mode in the EPL I think he will carry the team... my darkhorse to make the semis but will need better defending and goalkeeping)
    Portugal

    Group H
    Spain
    Switzerland
    Honduras
Chile (Chile will play inspired after all the earthquake madness and they have some decent players including Arturo Vidal and Matias Fernandez)

I really doubt local team doesnt pass first round, cuz you know even if they sux referee always help them or most of the time (i am looking at you fucking Korea in 2002).

Last i checked Ivory Coast doesnt have a coach 3 months before world cup yet, gonna be hard for them to make a competitive team at this rate.

    Here we go.

1' goal from Rooney. That was the worst marking I have seen on a set piece in a while...

Ain't the opening game Mexico vs SA? Mexico needs to walk away w/ at least a point. Then take care of business vs Uruguay.
