same applies to amano, shouldnt be hard to keep aftermaths in salvage. I saw a relic sam with usu feet+body so I assumed he used sword strap, hence the comparison swords strap+feet vs pole + fumas..

No, it's called realism. If aftermath is up, use Dusk+1. If aftermath is not up, use Usukane. Is that really a hard concept for you to grasp?

Personally, I use spellcast/autoexec, and don't even have to think about it anymore, but the way I'm describing it is the ideal and optimized way to do it.

Past that, there's no way you're keeping an aftermath up full-time on Bhaf ramparts unless nobody else is attacking. Another DD/thf WSing and 1-shotting a pop is basically guaranteeing that your aftermath will fall off. Past that, personally, I dick around on those ramparts and use shit like Kagero because well, auto-swings will kill them faster than they pop, not really sitting there trying to optimize damage every second, because it doesn't speed the run up.

In fact, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this were true. Seems like most every Amano sam I've ever run across doesn't have a swap for aftermath up/down. You guys just seem to be wrong/as bad as them in the opposite direction.

Sorry, 1% haste isn't worth -20% of a WS. Believe it or not, FFXI lets you change gear whenever you need to.
