Salvage Drop III: No drop? Suck Less

in my experience, a good sam should enter salvage with a tomoe, a hagun, and a soboro. soboro wrecks the first floors, tomoe (or applicable plm) for gears and anything that flies, and then, personally i prefer hagun on bosses. it's not even about tp spam, it's about the ability to bounce hate between tanks. if you're using a soboro on the boss, you're either 1) holding tp way past 100 or 2) solo tanking.

(also, asuran fists > gekko will one-shot the big wamouras... that and quturbs are about the only thing worth holding tp for).

now can we get back to pictures of shit that doesn't drop for us?

Have run countless parses: Tomoe always > Soboro for every first floor, in light of recent posts, Arra might be an exception if you are consistently able to spam skillchains.

huh... no shit i always come mnk (i'm more comfortable tanking on mnk than sam) and our sam is 0/11 on tomoe (the whole ls is getting armed gears pops for him it's gotten so bad). cool to know

In AR our SAMs spam Tachi: Jinpu on the Qutrubs and that just absolutely rapes them, I've never noticed that high of damage with a PA.

AR tonight, 2nd was freelot and went to someone who doesn't have a Morrigan job leveled. Also, our TH4 wasn't on so we took a TH3 and assumed we're getting drops. Inb4 cool story bro.

Not shown, the other usu feet and a us warping on a 2% don, 1 of the feet went to a sam 40. we had 4 people who had it on prio not show up, which also meant no split run. 9 people in salvage makes me antsy, luckily bhaf is good with cells.

Then when I joined my current group on Unicorn, I noticed the SAMs did the same thing. So I prolly just assumed this was some common convention.

Random used GK SAMs only because Ondori wanted so, not because it was better, just because Ondori thought it was better. I was the leader of the previous form of Random and as the only SAM coming it was Polearm fest. Not gonna say Ondori was a bad player but his vision on this particular aspect of Salvage was plain wrong.

If i had to compare the previous form of your LS between the very first part where we used SC SAM (i was the said SAM in all situations) and when i took over leading and Polearm appeared, its litterally night/day difference.

When you try SAM Polearm in Salvage, you dont go back.

Chiming in to the whole YGK vs. Polearm for floors 1-3:
The only time I ever saw SCing Darkness beat Tomoe was AR with two monks (rare I know for most groups), had soboro and litterally spammed a Darkness after every Asuran. The constant SC damage can two shot mobs no prob but still, spamming Penta is close behind and destroys it for any other zone Floor 1-3.
