I think the point is that no one here has accumulated the total drops from every server and every salvage shell to determine the exact drop rates for each zone. We have our guesses, but it wildly differs by group.

Making the claim by Thorny that "SSR drops are 3-5% and others are 10%" is blanket statement that isnt backed up with anything more than his own guesses and observations.

BR cant really be compared because when it rains it pours and if you get NMs, you have a high chance of getting a 35. However you can go many runs without NMs.

ZR each NM has a 5% chance of dropping one of their items, but they can drop 3 each, so on average you have a 15% chance of getting a 35 piece from them, but that doesnt raise the chances of getting the specific piece you want.

AR is a bit of a mix and match. The chariot is similar to the ZR frogs in that it can drop 3 pieces, so you have a higher chance of getting armor from it, but still low% of the armor you specifically are targeting. Ares body/head and Macha's head seem to be higher drop rate, but again we can only pull from observations here and personal experience. Macha's body however seems to have a depressingly low % compared to everything else due to having 4 chances to drop (on the order of 1.5% per kill).

From observation in this thread and experience, SSR follows the same 5% drop rate per mob.

So no, unless Thorny has pooled the drop rates from every group on every server, the original statement of "For your group" is applicable.

If you honestly think SSR is at all comparable to other zones, I don't know what to tell you. Wiki droprates, friend's experience, personal experience all point to bhaf/zhay/arra averaging out to 10-12% at a given piece on a given run. The primary exception is that you won't target both morri/ares head and won't always do all 4 ramparts in bhaflau, but typically nobody cares about ares head or 3f bhaflau anyway.

Ask anyone who's done salvage more than 6 months how their ssr droprates compare to their other zone droprates, if you find someone saying SSR is comparable to the rest I'll shit bricks. Raised or not, it's just plain terrible.

If you just want to compare zones, sure, but I think you've already pointed out 1 issue....SSR standard run for us has a max of 4 35 drops. Arrapago has 6 unique pieces (if you want to assume chance of a piece to drop on a run is roughly equal). Zhayolm has 6. Bhaflau isn't worth discussing.

So sure, from a zone pov, I think most groups will have less SSR items, but I don't think the "new" droprate is that much lower. In all my time in salvage, I've seen 2 skadi feet, 2 skadi legs, 2 mori legs. This doesn't really counter anything you're saying, but everyone is going to likely have a different item they've been unlucky in, and (this actually supports you), even if the droprate there is lower, people are most likely to think the shit they aren't getting is the worst droprate. Anyway, we also saw something like 12 Usu heads (and halfish were pre-update), and still 6-7 Usu bodies, and enough Ares legs that I lotted twice (in 2 diff groups) being entirely unable to equip it (and lost to someone both times that was equally unable to use it).

Not sure on the point of this post even really, I'll accept SSR has a slightly lower droprate, but...I also think it's overplayed/exaggerated (based on more than my personal experiences too).

While it's hard to discern actual droprates from bullshit here(looking at the person who said 1/55 on tsukikazu sune-ate, btw) and wiki has repsonse bias, I still stand by my original statement of morri slops taking over twice the #/runs of any other piece of the set. Proving it is fruitless, any data has flaws, and many people could have falsified to gain self-pity/etc.

So, been doing this shit since it came out. 3 runs a week, lately been doing 4. Used to stay up til 4am to do this, cut back. Been 14/15 on Morrigan and Marduk for over a year needing Lv35 feet, and 14/15 on Skadi for half a year needing Skadi Body 35.

So tonight we hit up ramparts for lol. Haven't seen this fkn in a while.

Over how long? 99% confidence interval using my data places actual droprate between 1.304% and 4.895%. Most outliars exist within small sample sizes, which is why you see every dipshit going 1/1 on (insert ssr drop here) while only having done a half dozen runs.

If you want to split up before/after patch data:
Prepatch is 0.85% to 5.51% at 99% confidence.

Postpatch is 0.56% to 6.66% at 99% confidence.
