I called it for beta to start after FFXIII release though i'm suprised how soon after. Going to be fun, does anyone have clear information about the beta? they said ffxi players would get in for their loyalty to the game, but did they just mean those that attended vana fest? Also Changing between closed alpha for those from ffxi and beta invitations being sent out.

Am I over analyzing or not?

My purely speculatory guess says that of the people signed up for the beta only FFXI players or previous FFXI players will get the initial round of beta invites.

I'd hope in saying they are including loyal FFXI players this means they are taking into account the question about how long you had played FFXI for in the beta application. Otherwise, I guess there may be reason to go check out XI again until a more concrete timeframe for XIV is fleshed out.

gonna go out on a hunch and say everybody who has a currently active FFXI account and meet the system requirements are going to be set at a higher priority than anybody else. Reasoning is because of current FFXI players needing to input their POL ID at beta sign up.

They will probably go through all of these people before they move to the people who played for 5+ years and quit.

tbh I thought it was pretty useless. You had to sign in to your POL account before you could sign up anyway, so why ask them to enter your POL idea when they could simply pull that info from your login account anyway?
