Is it really worth it to do mineral boosting? A single mess up and you just lost the edge you were working for (I've seen scv stop working once the queue is over, misclick...etc). I would rather scout properly and harass with that worker than work on something that will probably be nerfed eventually.

It's already patched I think on EU and KR, as well as the Ultra vs CC bug, so yeah not worth perfecting it at this point.

Graviton Beam would immediately cancel itself upon casting if you had 100+ energy I believe? Or something like that, the bottom line is it would cancel itself resulting in Phoenixes being pretty useless.

Graviton Beam would fail randomly, which mean you were left without energy and enemy units murdering you from under. Phoenix isnt the kind of unit you can afford losing, and small fail like this would often make a difference versus queen/small hydra army.

The most recent funday monday actually pissed me off, because it kinda ruined the surprise of one of my most effective strategies PvT. I still use it and it still works (even against 1k+ diamonds), but yeah when I tried it and people saw a carrier they would instantly say like "hi day9" in the chat, haha. I still love the strat versus terran though, even if they see it coming, it lets me have some more control over the matchup and force them into a build (marine viking) that my followup (stormuuuuuu!) counters very well.

As with all Blizzard games, "It'll be ready when it's ready." Blizcon is coming up pretty soon though I think isn't it? Hopefully some info on it then. If the SC2 expansions are more than 1 yr apart I'm going to be fairly disappointed.

Indeed, hopefully it won't be too long of a wait since they have a template ready for missions anyways. Really pleased with what Terrans gave in terms of variety, and eagerly ready for the Zerg as well. Since it's my favorite, I'm hoping it'll have some epic missions too.

Besides the obvious "Scout the cheese" Baneling bust the cannons. 3 of them kill a cannon. 5 of them for a pylon.

Once you know how to handle itgetting canon rushed is like getting a freebie. I think I've lost only a single game to canon rush in the last 30 attempt (and it was winnable, I simply got cocky and let him start his rush thinking I could handle it).

#1 preemptive strike: You have overlord in your base, use them to get vision everywhere
#2 Oh shit, he is building a pilon: Don't worry about it. Half of the pilon are attempt to scare you, the other half are proxy that can be killed before they are used. If you don't have a pool by now, I do recommend building one on the opposite side asap thought. At this point, you will want to send a drone outside your base to a far away expand, and start an hatchery asap.
#3a) He still doesnt have canon: Plant a spine closer to edge to kill anything that would attempt to build a canon
#3b) He build canon: Plant 2 spines (one works, but safer with 2) out of canon range. Since their range is the same, he wont be able to get any closer


Once the push is blocked you have a few alternative
-Send zergling to his mineral line (if you cant leave your main, use the expansion larva) . try not to be seen as well). Half of the canon rush leave their base completely open, and 8-10 ling can do ravage. (I always do that first)
-Fast tech to muta and get map control


If you were careless and he actually manage to get canon in your mineral line, the only possibility is is to back out of your base and expand somewhere else. Never fight canon with your drones unless you can kill the probe first and finish off the canon before they start. Losing drone to canon is the worst possible thing you can do in my experience.

Baneling isnt a cost efficient method to get out of of canon rush. 3 baneling = 150mineral/75gas, and you will lose a few before they reach the canons. By the time you're done with them, the other guys might have void ray, phoenix, lot of stalkers. It could work if you can get a clean hit on the single pilon, but I dont think its optimal. It's easier to simply stop their progression and leave it at this (canon don't win game on their own, and they are relatively harmless once the push is over)

Planting 2 spine crawler on the edge of your creep as soon you saw both canon downstair would have done the job The probe wouldnt have been able to approach, and you had enough range to kill anything built upstair. Not escaping with a single drone out of your base did hurt you since you were forced to 1 base for the rest of the game (the guy never scouted outside your base, and you could have built a whole base over there) Lastly, roach didnt really stop the push here since their rage is so small. Instead, you should have opted for a fast muta strats and harass his undefended probe. The canon in that map wouldnt have been able to hit your hatchery anyway. Overlord drop is also a good way to escape your base silently (cause nydus pretty much tell the other guy what you're doing)

Lastly, spreading creep with your creep could work to some extent to block the canon progress, since he cant build on creep.

I had the idea of gettin a creep tumor out to stop the cannons, but yea, kinda never got onto it during the middle of that whole mess. Never thought of the spine crawler trick though, I gotta keep that in mind next time.
