So I'm playing the game on Brutal now and having a bit of trouble. I'm on the Steal the Odin Mission and Supernova. Tried both like twice and got next to nowhere. Supernova I pumped out like 15 Banshees but had no cash for MMM, so I tried to just bolt it for the vault and got fried. as for the Odin mission, on hard I basically just tagged 4 SCVs on him and went about my business and that worked, but on Brutal they target SCVs and Meds. He gets to the 2nd base where a BC and a tank rock him hard, down to 50% quickly and by the time I kill the 2 with Wraiths he's pretty close to fucked. Any tips on either mission?

Supernova: Keep active with your Banshees so you don't waste time/units. Pump MMM and as late as you can lift everything off and break through the base with MMM + Banshees + A few wraiths (to kill air)

Odin: You can't rely on SCVs but you need to have a few sitting near the Odin because he will come close to dieing sometimes. Pump Banshees/Wraiths because they have almost no detectors, Science Vessels rock on this mission too. Make sure to defend your base, they will attack it pretty hard on brutal. This was the hardest mission for me but I ended up lifting everything shit off and barely winning. Make sure to take the non-SCV gas mining upgrade and build refinerys on both the geysers in the 2nd base.

Super nova was one of the hardest mission. I just went goliath+marauder, with a few viking and banshee. I was sniping air unit with viking (can kill most prism shuttle powering the canon in 2nd base), then sniping as much ground unit as I could with my banshee. When the firewall was getting close, I was rushing in with my ground force to finish the rest. For the final push, I used a few tanks down the ramp leading to the protoss, and eventually pushed with everything I had, inlcuding scv.
Oh, and use every mercenary you can buy, they are very useful in this mission (especially the overpowered tank).


For Odin's mission, I just built a bit of everything (mm, tank, wraith). If you have a satellite, you can summon mules to heal him for emergency, but bring as many scv as needed otherwise. For the last stretch, you might want to send most of your scv. Just make sure to keep an anti air force strong enough to defend against the last air push, and kill any battlecruiser odin will encounter.

Now I'm just expecting this to happen to me too, and see how much of a panic it sends me into, especially if its uber early when I wasn't scouting fast enough.

I love the spine! For a mere cost of 25 mineral, you keep 2 drone away from the mineral line long enough to make it worthwhile...and this is when you cancel, because it can do a lot more dmg.


I'm actually curious why people arent doing it more often. I don't see any reason not to do it, unless the guys got a pool before you.
