I guess I got my arguements mixed up considering I am arguing with two peple at once here. I was talking with you about 14 hatch into roaches to keep the terran contained, while bweiwhatever about safe expanding against roaches, so I got mixed up sorry.

Yeah that's what I was getting at. If he 14 hatches he can not punish your fast expo, if he one bases you can skip the hellions and go straight to either Thor's or Tanks.

What game type do you guys usually play? I kinda like 4v4. I like seeing multiple races goign multiple units, seems to make for more interesting games

1v1 > ffa > 2v2 > 4v4 > 3v3


1v1 requires good strategy, good microing and macro...they are pretty fun all around. FFA are retarded, but that's what make them fun. 4v4 is better than 3v3, because if I want to mass unit, might as well go with the mode that has the most messy fight.

any multiple mode makes me angry, I tend to get buttrushed anytime I play 2v2/3v3/4v4 and its just not fun after the fifth / sixth time. I've yet to find anyone who wants to have any sort of discussion or teamwork.

Our 3v3 or 4v4 are usually fun especially if you get on Vent with us.

I'd rank them 1v1 > 2v2 > 3v3 > FFA = 4v4. With the exception of 1v1 being >>> everything else (I have the most respect for it), none of the rest are really that different.

1v1 is easily the most competitive and the least variable. You have no one to blame but yourself when you lose a 1v1. In the team matches, there's only so much you do when someone executes an abusive strategy (like what reaper/ling used to be before the reaper nerf) without the perfect response from your teammate. This also means 1v1s are probably the most stressful as well though.

2v2 spreads the fault around for losses a bit, but can still be really competitive. 3v3 is more or less the same thing, but spreads the fault out even more and has more leeway for comebacks. 4v4 is the farthest end of that spectrum. FFA is the least accountable though I'd say, because winning is more or less luck based (hope no one 2v1s you, or better yet, hope everyone else kills eachother) and is unranked so your opponents are pretty random.

I tend to play 3v3's the most, mainly just because I have 2 friends that play more often than others. I like 3v3s because they aren't tremendously stressful and 2 of us are better than the 3rd by a bit. This means we can usually blame losses on him, but also still win a lot from the 2 of us carrying. We play 4s too when extra people are on, but I always end up messing around a lot more in 4v4s than I do in 3v3s. I play FFAs to warm up, and 1v1s when I convince myself. 2v2's I play the least despite playing them the most I think in beta.

Can't do FFA without raging at the thought of 2 people simultaneously attacking my base, and they probably agreed to do it ahead of time... which is what happened in my 1 and only FFA. Was doing FFA with my brother and his friends, and in the end one guy masses battlecruisers and the other guy slips in with viking/banshee and they just take their time with my base, leaving each other alone >.>
