Really didn't help either that they had 8 freakin people on the show at one time including Destiny. Usually it's the 4 + a guest and a random midshow invite.

Only turned into a history thread cuz Salodin asked after we were talking about Llbelle on SotG.

And Idra is an ok person. He is just really competitive when it comes to SC2 and BMs when he thinks stuff is imba against him (and zerg in general).

shitty passwords are like password and 123abc, your well known first name as your password is fucking stupid. Telling us you changed it then not actually changing it got him locked out of the forums by a furious Ragn a few times.

we started with the old phpbb which we upgraded and cleaned up immediately and that helped a little bit, it was still full of holes that we tried to patch but couldnt fix fast enough. PHPbb3 was a little bit better but it was only a short time before the holes became worse and ragn was spending more time coding patches and informing them of problems they would ignore before we had a conversation about the upgrade to VB. We made the jump and VB was much better, reliable about security patches and the like, however when the company was sold to somebody else, patches got shitty for a bit so Ragn went back to coding but it wasnt nearly as bad. When VB4 was announced it was spotty and shittastic, one of the worst software releases you could imagine (worse than XIV). It ran horrible, skins didnt work even in the slightest between versions, and it had more holes than a pornstar on meth. After many months it finally reached a stable version and we made the upgrade, skins were still spotty but we got them running, Ragn did have to do some fix coding but it wasnt nearly as much. Right now we focus on adding features to the forums since they dont require nearly as much fixing in the background.

While Ragn and I handle the forums now, Nikkei started the ball rolling and really helped make the forums run smoothly with rules and modding advice, while she has stepped away from the forums to concentrate on her personal life, the bulk of the rules in place are still the original ones she setup, Epical tweaked the verbage and Isladar added the angry, but the point is still the same.

Isladar was Nikkei and I's hand picked choice for an additional admin and it has paid off in spades, her attitude and flair about handling situations, whether it needs the soft hand of the pimp hand has really made things a lot smoother as well as the go to person for Ragn and I having announcement posts "Isladar-ed" to make them cooler. The forums arent perfect by far, but Id say they are very well moderated and controlled (except for qalbert), though the mods=fags thing always makes me wonder how good or bad a job we are doing.

also I watched all the day9/husky casts a few weeks ago and they were fantastic, they played off each other very well, much better than HD/Husky. my dream SC2 show would be day9 hosting with a guest host every week or maybe just once a week and video updates from other casters on different news around the community, the teamliquid minute, the QXC matchup of the week, blah blah.

So where do you see BG a few years from now Sonomaa? Just more people and more active threads? Or something like it's own brand, hosting tournaments and stuff. I know Bluegartr is still a ls/guild in a few games, but did you guys ever entertain the idea of being something larger then it is now?

In other news, ST.Bomber couldn't make his flight due to visa problems. So they tagged in MC to take his place. Opening casted match is Idra vs MC, with Idra probably preparing strats for a ZvT so is going in a little bit underprepared. Damn MLG Columbus is going to have some crazy good competition.

I dunno about anybody being under prepared for MC. Tyler/Idra probably prepared for straight up games vs T/Z/P since you're eventually hitting every race throughout MLG.

If they were going to try some all-in snipes against him they wont be too difficult to develop in two days.

more people, more threads, not necessarily more forums but the proper forums for the popular trends of games to keep people excited and coming back. We do want to host tournaments, I want to get a store open for selling shirts and hats and shit, after the DISASTROUS start with hoodies, we are doing shirts and hats only for now (and only to US/Canada). The logo contest is part of that, trying to make ourselves a more identifiable brand as we spread out further across the interbutts. We also hope people dont forget where they came from, word of mouth advertising is some of the best you can get as the only people I hear who dont like BG are the fuckwit posters who got owned after they made a thread they shouldnt have.

We will continue to have an ear to SEs door as long as they continue to produce games, hopefully they get back on track and give us the goods again, after the 13 and 14 disaster a lot of people have lost considerable faith in them, hell after I read the GRIN article on Fortress Im wondering if they can pull it together.

Lot of people probably don't notice my join date either. I pre-date even the vast majority of BG members!

I don't remember actually joining, but I think it was when a member of my LS made a terrible brag post about an Osode or something that I can't remember. It ended up being a hilarious thread and was bumped several times over the years. But I'm pretty sure I didn't become active at all until big kills got big.

It was the 4th thread in the BG history tab at the top to give you some context on how early this was. I didn't even post in it at the time, but I'm pretty sure that's when I registered when someone in our LS made note of it and we all checked it out to laugh.

Both games were sick.

On metalopolis Idra tries to drop main with roach/hydra on top of an observer. MC blinks in and forcefields about as well as he could. Looked lost for Idra right there but he kept streaming in roach/ling/hydra and eventually killed off that attack and ended up trading armies. Could not believe Idra pulled up so far ahead..

Second game was great, too. MC starts off with a really slick 2 zealot timing and hid them from overlords/2 zerglings macro zergs start with. So zealots/stalkers attack the hatch and surprise Idra. He almost loses the hatch but MC attacks zerglings instead of focusing and killing the hatch. Idra holds it off and marches into victory.

All the games are really good at MLG so far. I'm trying to watch both streams but volume doesn't stay low during commercials, so during recaps I'll drop it to 3%, watch the other stream, and all of a sudden I get 100% volume commercials that I can't turn down -_-

This + MMA makes me seriously not like Idra as much lol. And to ^ poster, idra still had free tanks to kill with the huge muta flock. There were 20 marines but like 5@natural, 5@center about to get raped by ~20 mutas, and 10 marines back at base. Idra had that game won...
