Starting thursday we need to get back into bg nights with this game.
At least...until battlefield comes out :3
What sort of times do you guys play?
I usually play late at night then end up raging and playing all night!
Yeah I thought this was a noticeable change in demeanor (game 2). That game looked NOTHING like an idra game to me, because there were just way too many times I would have expected a rage quit. And if he had, I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised, he was honestly in a pretty hard position a couple of times that game, in a worse spot than plenty of other times I've seen him leave.
He looked really good in those games and played a much more solid mid-to-late transition game than I've seen out of him before. I remember back in MLG, he would just get caught up in his GO MUTAS phase and just never come out of it. He'd eventually sack his whole muta ball along with a handful of ling/baneling into an army, lose all his mutas and leave. This time he ACTUALLY TRANSITIONED OUT OF IT (except game 3 where his muta-crash actually worked by a stroke of baneling-luck).
Overall though, honestly I was pretty disappointed with Puma's play. He didn't look near the level of the top Terrans you see in Code S these days, in both his match against idra and even his wins over JYP and group. Lots of supply blocks, building misplacement (game 3 vs idra supply wall), control errors (game 3 vs idra also, bad marine split missed the last 2-3 banelings that killed like 70% of his marines), etc. He just looked a lot sloppier than I thought he was. Not to take anything away from idra of course, even a sloppy Puma is better than 99% of the non-korean scene, lol.
As for actually playing the game.. I've been popping on more and more these last couple weeks, pretty much playing exclusively 4v4 random. I actually kind of hate it, but I find it the least stressful and easiest to spam game mode for team random wins (for icons). Whenever I do finish those achievs (or at least get an archon ava), I'll probably start playing 1v1s again.
If I see anyone on or posting, I'll be sure to harass you to leech some wins off of!
Least stressful? All my rage is coming from 4v4 randoms. Yay another fucking straight Mothership rusher. And he's somehow in Platinum and not Bronze. I don't even
One time I was bored in a 3v3, and got terran which I hate, rushed BCs which ended up not working well, (I was with friends anyway) and the guy on the other team got super-mad like 20min after the game ended and called me trash for getting to diamond by BC rushing. I lol'd.
Is that a leak of art from HotS?
No, official silhouette from Blizzard. They said they're gonna be teasing more units for multiplayer leading up to BlizzCon.

I think we've already established I approach them a bit differently than you, lol. I don't mind 4gate-ing or other tier 1 rushing, but if my team doesn't do them, I don't freak out. I usually give them a shot and try to just outplay the opponents (you'd be surprised how often a ling runby can kill off all the workers of ALL FOUR OPPONENTS, even at diamond/masters). Or if it's clearly going to lose us the game "lol hey guys I'm just going to go 1rax marines and give you all my money kk? lol i don't know how to play" then I could just leave a re-queue. For some reason, 4v4s feel to me like they are unranked like FFAs, in that I really don't give a single shit about losses. I just accept that no matter what my teammates look like, I can expect a 40-60% win rate overall and will slowly grind my way through the achievement.
Sweet, more shit for terran.
Oh wait, fuck you. Give zerg more units.
this new unit is really a nerf to terran, it's going replace the regular hellion as the reactor unit from a factory. there will be an unlockable upgrade for hellion mode and another for blue flame.
it's going to remove early hellion pressure. the same way they removed early reaper pressure by moving nitro packs from rax xlab and to factory xlab; hellion mode will be an upgrade from the starport xlab.
It's pretty ridiculous to think of ANY balance thoughts from that picture, lol. It's a fucking silhouette that kind of sort of looks like a hellion transformer, that means pretty much nothing.
You really have to understand the difference between balance and game design. Adding and removing units, mechanics, buildings, abilities, etc. all fall into the category of game design. Making such a change on it's own to the current build would affect balance, sure, but 100% of the reason for such a change would be to change gameplay and make the game more fun or interesting. After they are satisfied the game is interesting and unique enough, they will balance around what they have put in (usually through changing damage, build times, cooldowns, movement speed, and other fine-tuning numbers.
In short, it's really stupid to think of a new unit as either a buff or a nerf, it's just a change to gameplay.
Also, it definitely was kind of stupid of them to tease a new Terran unit first, lol. I think their reasoning was they were just going in order of the campaigns, but that doesn't make it a good idea. I'd rather they did a similar silhouette teasing some units they are going to remove.
I don't want them to remove units, that'd be silly. Add new units and balance the game to make shit more balanced.
