I've never been so at the edge of my seat in a sporting event before. How close it was and how Kiwikaki just pulled ahead was amazing to watch. I know that Stephano didn't play perfectly in that engagement and could have done more to win it, but there's no denying that it was an incredible battle to watch.

In less interesting news; I hit Rank 1 in my Bronze league! Now I just need to try my best to make Silver before the league locks on Monday.

Taking out Thorzain 2-0 and playing really well. I didn't have much hope for him beating the spoony Terran, but I'm very happy to see him fighting through. IPL is having some really amazing matches.

I was getting so upset that stephano was so close to winning and he wasn't even mined out, meanwhile kiwi was out of mining bases for so long.

That final engagement though...holy cow...edge of my seat the whole time.

I was really disappointed with the HuK v Inori match. HuK losing 2-0 because he tried two failed 4gates when earlier on in the tournament others like MC had failed with 4gates against Inori was such a huge misstep by HuK.

I felt like Stephano should have won before that final engagement in the first place. I mean, the first attack + recall was very cool and probably caught steph off guard, but the second one could have easily been game ending. Stephanos army was right in the middle of the map and moving toward that base, but if he had just sent the corruptors back to the mothership he could have practically 1-shotted it, stranding kiwi's army in a bad place. At that point he probably would have crushed it.

Still the final engagement was quite cool and it's interesting to know that was why he didn't vortex when he did parasite it earlier (I didn't think he ever got in range/was able to during the last engagement).

By the way, I hope people have been watching from semi-finals on. Not going to spoil it, but very amazingly dominant play.

Very happy to see Stephano win against the Koreans. I didn't see the semi-final or the final itself as I'm in Europe and that's far too late, but I'd seen all his matches up to that point and he's an incredible player. As much as my British culture requires I hate the French, I was rooting for him the moment HuK went out.

Regarding Kiwi vs Stephano game 2, both players seemed like they could've ended the game a lot sooner. Stephano kept over-making corruptors and waited too long to switch to broods. Kiwi kept feeding colos to those same corruptors, went to DT tech and did nothing with it, got a warp prism and did nothting with it, never got HTs. The whole time I watched the mothership shenanigans I thought "imagine if really good protoss got motherships mid/late-game."

Almost certainly a seige unit, but I bet it comes from hydralisks to give them a morph ability like bw did. Would give hydras a morph to go from high dps unit to a seige unit for defense, etc.
