Some guy who saw my avatar used as a reaction image and said something and attached Maguspk to it. Makes it pretty obvious it was someone from BG since they think I own this image or something. I can 100% guarantee that IdrA's spot wasn't made by shafting Naniwa. I'm not sure if they gave Sen a spot to shaft Naniwa.

He wasn't banned, but the Code S spot he would've gotten from coming second in Providence was revoked. He can still get into GSL but he'll need to go through code B now.

As for why, in the group stages of GSL's ongoing Blizzard Cup, both he and Nestea were 0-3 in group stage and had to play each other. Neither could advance so the game was meaningless and rather than play it out with something quick like a 4-gate, Naniwa decided to probe rush. Half the community flipped it's shit both in Korea and everywhere else.

It's more of a professionalism and respect thing, especially when you're playing with an audience and in a formal league. If it were some small tourney where players played on their own and reported the results, it may be fine, but not like in the GSL like this. Even if he personally did not feel like playing the game, he should've continued out of respect to the league and audience, considering that it's literally his job to play (and win).

I dunno about all of that. He already lost so really, it's only his job to play since he couldn't "win". Which is absolutely right, it IS his job to play his game because GOM is counting on 10-40minutes of air time for commercials/advertizement - but on the other hand it kind of sucks to force him to play when he can't win; when winning is all that matters to him. It's a sad story and it's too bad naniwa can't handle himself in these situations.

Anyway, whatever you answer to, "does a player need pride in the sport he plays?" is where you stand on the topic, I think. I personally don't think the guy needs to be like every other player. Diversity is cool, and I like having an anti-social weirdo who's big in the scene.

His team sponsors pay to have him play the game at his peak at every event and produce an audience. While it's arguable whether or not probe rushing produced sponsor revenue do to attention, it's without a doubt an obvious throw which shows a lack of respect for his sponsors which are the people that really matter. You have to have a serious lack of self control or a cronic case of selfishness to ignore the people paying for you to live as a pro gamer and do what he did. It's also kind of a big 'fuck you' to the fans who want to see games. Half these kids watching SC2 don't know wtf they just want to see units attack each other and will simply mimic however CasterDuo feels and how hyped they are getting, so the argument that 'he wouldn't play his best' is a huge cop out.

Personally, I think it was his way of denying Nestea a rematch to maybe bring the score to 1-2. Dodged.
