After finishing the campaign on hard last night I tried multiplayer for the first time last night. Let's just say it didn't go so well. The person I played against was super cool though and helped me out/toyed with me instead of just steamrolling my ass. I'm just so not used to the income speed/change in pace over single player. I could usually get away with 1-2 of each production facility in campaign but i'm swimming in crystal/gas online. Any tips for overcoming this?

Also, does multitasking come through practice or are you pretty mch screwed if you're having a hard time doing more than just a few things out of the gate?

Practice, practice, and more practice. Learn a simple build order and practice it until you have it down pat. Keeping your money down will come in time once you learn when to add more production and remember to keep up with building supply, when to tech, when to expand, etc. Starcraft is a very practice makes perfect game.

Well, it depends on how many bases you have, and what race you're playing. I don't know exact numbers for terran and protoss, so I can't really give you 100% correct advice. I think you can support 3-4 gateways and a robo off one base, and 3 rax and a starport off one base. Think. idk. Just mess around with it. If you have too much money, add more buildings, if you have no money, and buildings are unused, then remove some.

And it should come with time and practice, yeah.

Just won a 3v1. My teammates left because they lost their armies to the Banshee/Marine all in that I scouted, but before I had my ling/baneling flank set up that ripped through everything.

I'm at 91% of single player achievements. Trying to get it done before hots.

i'm at about 75%~. one that i'll never get is Lost Viking Gold.

Lost Viking was easy...it take a few attempts to learn the bosses fight, but once you can do them without dying, you can last forever.

So today I hit rank 1 masters in 3v3 random.

I'm curious to know if this means I'm a good player. When you see someone's profile and it says they're diamond in 1v1 but rank 1 masters in 3v3 what do you think?

My 1v1s are diamond rank because I haven't played much. I believe if I grind it the way I did 3v3s I'll hit masters before February ez.
