Anyone got a gif of FXO Choya ripping off his jacket in the team league the other day?
I don't know, but reading this made me rage. Sure, some of it was funny, but going out of your way to troll people who aren't taking the game as seriously as you are is stupid.
I agree about the stupid ranking system however.
They obviously don't take it seriously in the sense that they watch professionals trying to get better and such. But the author makes the point that it seems like the players are trying to win -- they just can't. For whatever reason, they can't even process the instructions telling them how to attack move.
To me this represents the flaw in terms of trying to make games more accessible. I think at some point, a good game can't go about trying to appeal to Farmville caliber players because making the game accessible to them inherently injures the game because the amount of simplicity you have to inject would destroy the game.
dunno if yall seen this before but just found it and it made my day

Is there a decent way to get out of the "mass a big army before really engaging" mentality? My buddy and I play and there doesn't seem to be an engagement until 10+ min unless I'm actively aggressive. We pretty much always do ZvT (he's zerg) so I usually open with hellion harass then go into bio units. I watch a lot of streams and it seems like they usually are working the map from the 5+ minute mark with small squads of units. I guess I just have to force myself to do it? Tips for this?
Thats really how most games are played even at the pro level. From what i've seen most of the game is harass your opponent while you build up your forces, tech, and economics. Smaller engagements come around while this is happening. I wouldn't go into the game saying that ima just turtle till 200/200 and then attack. You still need to try and keep map control.
Well, you kinda answered your own question there. I don't know what league you and your buddy are in, but in the lower leagues, this happens because people can't manage their macro and army at the same time. So they exclusively macro, then exclusively mobilize. It's also one of the reasons why newer players tend to sit passively in their base, since they can't properly control both their army and their base.
I would suggest picking a timing attack, and executing that every time until you perfect the push while maintaining your macro. If your push is successful, expand behind it and go from there.
Always try and get a bunker down vs his expansion, even if you're not 2 raxing he has to respond by pulling drones and losing mining, occasionally the bunker will finish and you can kill the expo and go home with a massive lead.
( obv rally first few marines over with this ).
When you're teching your bio, push whenever combat shields finishes, then push with stim again, then push when siege tech finishes ( mvp style ).
It forces zerg to build units instead of drones and if they misjudge your army size/seriousness of push then they either undermake and die, overmake and hurt their economy so you're much stronger lategame. Ofc they can get it just right in which case you slowed their economy down and traded evenly - there's no situation where pushing out on those upgrades is ever bad.
Code S Semi-finals Gumiho vs DRG was awesome.
Spoiler: show
On another topic, how many of you are paying the $20 for the MLG Winter Area this weekend? I think it's far too much money for an initial attempt at PPV, but with the lineup and content I'm very tempted.
Nope, going to be watching Assembly instead, probably.
I might watch mlg if I find a pirate re-stream of it >_>
sal get on line im off today lets do some 2v2 XD
I'd do it for $1. Anyone else in?
I'd be in if it works like that.
I have a loonie in my hand, where on my computer do I put it?
I'll throw in a few bucks if that works.
