Hots release date announced. 3/12/2013. Standard, collectors, and digital collectors available.
Any word on price? I'm going to assume $40
It looks like the collectors edition physical item is a mouse pad. Was hoping for a figurine. Guess digital deluxe will be fine. Dat baneling pet.
I'm okay with this price.
Bought the digital deluxe. Now own the collectors for all 3 current blizzard games. (Diablo 3, MoP, HoTS). Blizzard still good at taking my money.
Any way to give the WoW pet to someone else? I don't play it but my brother does. I don't want it linked to my account if I can just give it to him since it'll go to waste otherwise.
There's no way, no.
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaay
It does not give you a code. It's all tied into the main cd key. It's been that way for a long time.
Anyone else watching WCG world finals?
I am. Disappointing production quality though =(
I miss the international 2, that was such a gold standard and this so far has not really been close.
in case anybody that cares wasn't aware, 1v1 final is going on atm for 100k
best of 7, tied at 2-2 so far
I've never played a warcraft or starcraft rts, only age of empires, but it's pretty interesting so far.
For a PvP it was pretty good. Typically PvP and ZvZ are considered the most boring matchups.
I feel like ZvZ has become a really amazing matchup actually. This tournament had a ton of really cool ZvZs especially.
That one lategame match with Scarlett in a ZvZ was sick as hell. So pissed she lost.
The most shocking part of the entire event was that the end result was a PvP and not a Zv(?). Well to me at least, just about every major event seems to be Zv(?) or ZvZ which really says a lot when you see that combination show up very frequent in tournaments.
Best part between the matches tho was the StarCraft shortsthose are just silly fun to watch.
I wasn't particularly shocked. Don't get me wrong, Zerg is a pretty strong race in the metagame right now, but there is a much stronger one: Korean.
This tournament's podium was more or less decided months ago when WCS Korea happened to finish while Protoss was on their hottest streak ever in Korea. As a result we got pretty much the definitively best Protosses from Korea (and consequently, the world) into this tournament. The same is not as true for the Terran and Zerg lineups that made it through. Curious and Roro are pretty good and all, but they aren't even close to the best Zergs in Korea. I think we may have seen a very different tournament with a Leenock, Life, Hyun, or DRG or even some of the other Kespa guys like Soulkey, Jaedong, hyvaa, and soo.
And then Korea didn't even send ANY Terrans, largely because of a series of coincidental timing and circumstances. KeSPA only sent zerg and protoss's as seeds to WCS korea which made it a lot harder for their terrans to qualify through preliminaries (some like Flash and Snow came pretty close still). And then some of the best ESF guys like Taeja and MVP didn't even participate because of other tournaments/obligations.
If anything, I'm shocked it came as close as it did to NOT looking as Protoss dominant as it was. Sen, Suppy, Killer, Scarlett, all pushed Korean Protosses REALLY close to the edge, oftentimes just a single switched engagement and the podium finishes would have looked completely different. And that's with arguably the best foreign ZvPer, Stephano, being knocked out of groups early to a ZvZ and 1 clutch game from Hero.
This tournament could have looked very very different, but in a lot of ways I'm glad it turned out the way it did. A PvP finals may not be ideal and Parting and Creator may not have been the players a lot of people were rooting for. And even the games may not be particularly representative of the current metagame or skill level... But I'll be damned if a 4gate and some colossus wars in the finals of WCS isn't just the perfect way to send off WoL and usher in a hopefully much improved HotS.
So I decided to go ahead and snag SC2 since you can grab original + preorder expansion for $60 total atm.
I'm messing with the campaign to try to get back used to RTS, haven't played any in a long damn time. Only doing it on hard, so far.
I'm on the one not long after the starter edition ends where you have to clear out all the plagued buildings during day, and run back to defend town at night.
Holy shit man. I haven't had to multi-task like this in a long damn time lol. It's funny too, I was expecting the campaign to be a complete breeze really, cuz Age of Empires if you were decent at pvp the AI was just a straight joke, even heavily customized AI's with big resource advantages you had to set up a 1v5+ to be challenged.
