People bitching about Void Rays makes me laugh, you want something to bitch about its reapers. I mean shit I harassed this toss so hard with them, constantly killing pylons and whatnot and keeping his probes dead. Its not even fair.

Name an ability better than Forcefield? lol

That's why it's the most overpowered ability, because it can't realistically be dealt with and it literally changes the entire game. It isn't something that afflicts a few units or requires intelligent use, it can be used and changes the terrain of the game which is HUGE. Not only that, but it is spammable, you don't even need to think just smartcast it in a line and you're good to go, it's ridicy-donky.

Only being as good as the player makes no sense, you can say that about anything, it doesn't make it less powerful. That being said, it is the reason protoss is really competitive to a certain degree, it's one of those things that's like a crutch at this point.

EMP counter FF pretty well, while at the same time being able to instantly drop almost every Protoss unit to 50% HP.

    Edit: Can't type.

The only time where I feel that FF is overpowered is ZvP. Good micro can really fuck up a ground army. That said, I dont think FF is overpowered. The cost could be increased a bit, but I personally don't care since I've never been in a match where FF was an issue.

If your entire army consists of lings and hydra/roaches, then expect a toss player to use FF to help counter those cheap/massable units with something like colossus in the back to help even the odds.

If they ever nerfed FF then they better make a good change to colossus that helps even it out. FF/colossus is about the only way to deal with zerg half the time, and even then, it's easy to still fail if you make a bad micro mistake.

Not really, unless all 3 go pure defensive structures they will lose to it. The only way to defend against it is to tech behind mineral line and put defense in your minerals. If all 3 do not do it, one will fall and 3v2 is gg. If you opt to go tech or mass T1, You can't fend off 3 people attacking you like that. You're allies can't help you in time, especially if they went defensive structures. Ideally, it's 3v1 essentially, doesn't matter how good you are you can't defend against 3.

If you're facing even one Terran they can shut this down pretty easily. A planetary fortress at the main while they build up enough marines to fend it off. Mass early Reaper from two Terrans will also destroy this.

I have to agree with Flare. Just kills the whole point of a "Strategy Game" to mass zerglings. lol

If you're fast enough you can also get a nice block off as Protoss or Terran also. I usually do a Forge/Cannon build as Toss in the beginning just to seal off one of the entrances and it's actually pissed off quite a few teams.

I'd definitely love to get some 3's going though. If anyone wants to play, send me a PM with their b.net e-mail.

It's fucking easy to beat that 3x 7pool strategy.

Just relies on 9rax/10pool/9-10gateway and pump units - you fend off the first wave and you win because you have a better economy.

It's just that the 3v3 player pool is not organised and mostly random teams or arranged teams with no real tactics. That shit only works because it's beta.

In 1v1 the way to beating a 7pool if you can't walloff/produce enough units in time is... just turn your workers around and use them to kill it. 6 lings is a joke and even if it causes problems the opponent is 9/10 supply and has to overlord to make supply and it creates a big delay between the waves ( the gimmick is you 7pool > drone to 9 > double gas trick to let you get 6 lings out without making an overlord ).

What are some good ways to build your micro ability? So far i have been doing pretty good 1v1 & 2v2 but i always have too many minerals. I avg ~2-3k on the score screen in general. I have been learning hot keys and have been binding units/buildings but i can never just build and push.

My macro game is fairly good though. I play random and in general use IdrA's opening when playing zerg (fast exp), B-R > B-T; M & M when terran, and quick void as protoss. My econ is generally good and i know when to push/expand/defend.

Any tips/tricks? My average APM is ~30 (~45 zerg) if that helps.

Try learning how to drag click/move your units really quickly. Micro is mostly about your reaction time and keeping a close eye on the battle at hand. Try doing some Roach/Hydra splits against Toss units or other units that you out range and try to get a feel for splitting and moving the units around really quickly.

I have to admit though I have been playing for a while and towards mid-game I usually have a good number of bank minerals/gas (500-700). Best advice is just play like hell I suppose.

Oh, and when you play try to give yourself micro challenges, like this battle I'll try to keep more than half my army alive, etc.

Believe we all went 8pool instead of 6/7, but my opponents beat it back two nights ago. All three went full on defense and we couldn't push any of them. Maybe 7 is the key, but now that there's a youtube vid of it I doubt it'll ever work again.

It's you're macro that's hurting if you have that many minerals. With all three races you can make it to Diamond without any real attempt at micro if you're macro is strong. Zerg especially can go far just learning to macro like crazy and just a-moving their army when they want to attack. Micro should only really be a concern once you can keep you minerals low all game long. Also knowing all the hotkeys and having all production facilities bound to keys is vital. One helpful trick that works more for toss and terran is to have say you're CC or Nexus bound to 4, gateway/barracks to 5, factory/robo to 6 and just spam 4, 5, and 6, looking to see each time to make sure they are all producing units constantly. Keep only concentrating on that till it becomes second nature and you can do it without thinking very quickly, so that you can do it in the midst of a battle. For zerg it's more about having you hatcheries bound to 4 and you're queens bound to 5/6/7 for however many you have and constantly spamming those keys to make sure you are keeping you're Queens energy low.

I hate the Queen check also. It gets quite tedious with 3-4 bases. Wish there was a way of binding them all to one group and double tapping tab to shift or something.
